Huck's Pledge: He'll Run D.C.'s Streets

He's a world-class jogger who demands running time every day as he prepares for a marathon. But as president, would Republican former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee be satisfied running on Bill Clinton's South Lawn track? "What I'd rather do is sneak out into the streets and run," he says. "One of the great things I love about running is just sort of taking in the landscape. When I first started to run, I went around the little track around the governor's mansion. That was so boring. And I finally just broke loose and, of course, the [Arkansas state] troopers went nuts," he says.
