We have many foreign professors / instructors who are working to keep it that way. It's the price America isw paying for all the good will we have (that btw is not appreciated in many quarters... if fact is used against us)

Americans for the most part aren't interested in doing the hard work necessary in engineering and science unless they are confident of job security, and the historic levels of immigration have destroyed job security. You can pretty much correlate the decline of US industry and technology with the historic levels of immigration of the last few decades, but correlation is not causation as we say in the tobacco industry on cigarettes and politically correct circles on immigration.
