If this is so then What provisions are being made to retain Graduates Bachelors, Masters & PHD's in this STEM field who hold work authorizations but have not gotten jobs. Many of them hold work authorizations that will soon expire, are we serious about retaining these talented persons?

This is just bull. I hold an MS in Biochemistry and had to fight like heck for $40k and benefits. Many of my colleagues have abandoned the field and I would never encourage anyone to consider STEM for a career.

The way most American companies treat their science staff is a sick joke. Their latest thing is to keep all their science staff and temps foreever so that the "contractor" is paid $15-20 an hour gets no benefits raised career development or sick leave.

It doesn't take people long to realize that a career in STEM equals severe underachievement financially and job security wise.

So this is the new theory - US produces plenty of STEM graduates, but they move into non-STEM jobs? Once again, that just confirms that STEM salaries are far too low, that would rather explain why STEM workers move out, wouldn't it?

It's shameful that the finanicial press continues to shill for greedy (and shortsighted) employers, rather than simply do some research, just get out in the world and see what really goes on in companies. It's blatantly obvious in the real world.
