Buddy Roemer is clearly the best public speaker of any candidate. I was a solid supporter and donor until he switched to Americans Elect. Then I became suspicious and did my homework to learn more about him.

In the first place, Americans elect is exactly the big money donors that Buddy rants against. They have set up a system that would allow them, secretly, from behind the curtain, not only to influence the president, but to pick him. They will not pick him unless he will do their bidding. To learn about it, go to irregulartimes.com and search for Americans Elect articles.

Buddy has a history of attacking corruption and big money influence and then grabbing it when he can. In 1991 he switched from Democrat to Republican because G. Bush and the Republicans offered to finance his re-election campaign as governor. See this website:

http://www.salon.com/2011/03/03/roemer_duke_president/

Buddy Roemer's talent as a speaker does not help him to accomplish anything once he has been elected. He was one of the worst governors in Louisiana history. He could not get along with people, put together a competent staff, or pass legislation. He loves campaigning but has no desire or ability to govern. To see Buddy's failing record look at this excellent history of LA's governors, pages 259-268:

Google: Louisiana Governors Cowan Buddy Roemer, often wrong

Then click on the first choice

That book states that Buddy went after the big donations of the Republican party in 1991 and then tried again to be re-elected in 1995 in a "lavishly-financed campaign."

As a congressman he was inept. He chaired no committees and did not author any significant legislation. His only accomplishment in Congress was that he won money at poker games. Yes, he was a convincing bluffer. See page 12 at http://www.hamiltonmixon.com/Ballad.pdf

When asked recently how he would open up communication in Washington as president, Roemer answered that he "would emphasize listening and working in a bipartisan way, through poker games." Incredible!!

A PPP poll of Louisiana voters, just released, shows that here in his own home state he has the worst rating of any candidate for president. Two out of three of the people who know him best have an unfavorable opinion of him. (28% favorable, 56% unfavorable). He is Louisiana's UNfavorite son. See http://race42012.com/2012/03/23/poll-watch-ppp-d-louisiana-2012-republican-primary-survey/

Most of the things Buddy says about his past are false. See this web page where he obtained a reputation in Louisiana for mendacity.

I do not think he would be a good president. I do not think he could be elected.

I agree with all he has to say-however,as much as I hate to say it---those who truly want to change our status quo are always defeated because "MONEY IS NOW GOD IN AMERICA" and our way of doing things, concerning our government has now reached nearly all over the world! MONEY,MONEY,MONEY-a necessary evil we all need to survive--HOWEVER,this thing called GREED has ruined the moral fabric of our society and if you can stop GREED you can stop our major problems--"GOOD LUCK WITH THAT"

I for one really like what I am hearing- it is time for a third party! Buddy Roemer

has what it takes to get us to that point. I'm just one of the small unknown voters in this country that has become fed-up with our so-called "politicans" that we all sense are just another form of "organized crime". I firmly believe in this country and all it stands for, but I feel that it is slipping away while we stand and watch! It is time for another "Boston Tea Party" and not necessarily one from the new "tea party". I agree with some of the ideas they have but I don't think that is the best answer.

I for one will certainly be in favor of a third party and will support Mr. Roemer if he runs.

I wish NObodyAskedMe were not anonymous--why should readers take him/her seriously?

I almost know his answer--"When AmericansElect donors are transparent I'll be transparent." The difference is he is offering nothing but the same 2-party oligarchy that's destroying America and taking this anonymous opportunity to counter everything good said about Roemer in the U.S. World article. Maybe a paid plant?? Please, readers: consider this:

AmericansElect at the least offers a way of scaring the hell out of both parties. And if Buddy Roemer (my candidate) or someone else wins the AE nomination in June and starts creeping up to 15% qualification for participation in the presidential debates in September/October?

Well, folks, that's gonna be a sight to see! I just hope I'm still alive and around to relish it.

Both parties are well aware of Ross Perot example in 1992 when League of Women Voters rules permitted Perot to participate in one (or was it two?) debates. That's how come they threw out the League, ganged up and came up with rules that they'd never have to debate with a 3d person on stage again.

Just that THREAT of a Buddy Roemer on stage in three or four debates this fall might be transformative!

I see the Republicans are now desperately trying to come up with SOMETHING some little small business reforms where they can cooperate minimally with Democrats and be able to claim that as they run for office.

Think what the threat of AE spreading to nominations for Congress in 2014 (which AE is planning to do) will do for us? We might see MASS retirements!

maggy simony (and to use NobodyAskedMe's quaint phrase) OF Florida.

I wish too AE would tell us where the money for its ballot access venture is coming from, but desperate enough for SOMETHING to shake up the system, I'm willing to go with it in 2012. It is a brilliant idea whose time has come.

For me, a more serious problem is reaching other-than-computer-literate people. It could well be that Ron Paul will win AE nomination for this reason alone--he seems to be leading in this trial period PRIOR to actually voting for the six finalists that the AE process is leading to.

What else is there in 2012?

As for me, I too wish AmericansElect would release their donor list. But the concept of a

He actually brought up his other issues in this interview which is good. However, I don't mind him repeating his campaign reforms ever time because it needs to spread through every outlet of America. That is the key issue and without it, everything else is B.S. He has his site for the other issues if people want to look them up. But here is a pretty good balance. He is by far the most capable, sincere, and on target candidate that I've seen.

Andrew Pixton of UT 5:11PM March 02, 2012

I am a Buddy Roemer donor and supporter but I now see that he is an old windbag politician. His single issue for campaign finance reform is a valid cause, but that is all he has. We need a president who is able to turn the economy around and can work with other politicians to get things done. I searched the internet and studied his past. In Congress and as governor, he did not get along with anybody. Roemer's own party leader in Congress said, "Buddy Roemer--often wrong, but never in doubt." Upon a close look, you will find that he was ineffective and ignored. His boasts of past success are exaggerated. He is brilliant at coming up with one-line zingers, like "Washington is not broken, it is bought," but he does not have the ability change things.

His $100 limit, no PAC money apparently has been a hypocritical trick that did not work. He now seeks the nomination of the Reform Party or Americans Elect. Both of those are financed by a few secret big money donors. They are not democratic or transparent. They

will not nominate him unless they know that he will do their bidding. So in the final analysis, Roemer is just selling himself out for the big money, big check donors. He sure fooled me.

Contrary to Roemer's appearance as a quick-witted, astute politician, he is intellectually challenged to see reality. He decided to forego campaigning anywhere except New Hampshire. He put all of his eggs in one basket. Buddy, the banker, should know that bankers, investors, and politicians always diversify to avoid unforeseen disasters. Not Roemer. Often wrong, but never in doubt, he placed everything down on the one state that Romney, had already sewn up. Roemer obviously thought that by spending three intensive months every day in New Hampshire, he would be meeting the voters face-to-face in "retail politics" considered even more effective than any debate. He said he would be in the top 3 or 4 and surprise everybody. Boy! Did he surprise everyone! He got 4/10ths of one percent, the worst showing of all candidates then running. It was an embarrassing disgrace.

He has not been in any debates because they do not allow candidates who are not serious contenders to crowd the podium and detract from the real contenders. Buddy did not receive even 1% on any significant national poll and only had that amount on one or two single statewide polls. He did not meet the standards. He naively expected when he began his campaign to receive $100 donations from 1% of the American public. From his campaign reports, it appears that he rarely, if ever, received that much even from a crowd that he spoke to personally. His entire campaign has been a naive, unreal, hypocrisy.

He has no chance to obtain the nomination of the Reform Party or the Americans Elect party. They do not want to put their money on a lame horse who has proved to be a loser.
