How Romney and Obama Differ on the Economy

i thought the article was fair based on other reports about the Obama's Tax plan and even the Wall Street Journal had Obama's overall plan reducing the debt over time and Romney either increasing it or remaining flat so my question what's more important reducing the deficit and debts or winning the white house and adding to the debt...Romney keeps the Bush tax cuts in place that adds to the debt Obama ends some of the Taxes and then that comes off the books and reduces the debt Iraq war spending comes to an end and that savings reduces the debt may be that money gets shifted to some home grown plans..But during the Gop Primary many people already said Romney's plan would increase the debt so what's changed since then NOTHING...

"Obama's plan cuts the debt by $3 trillion over 10 years"??? Only in some chemically-induced hallucination. Obama's own 2012 budget doesn't even plan to balance the budget at the end of 10 years, much less run a $300 billion per year surplus.

as you can see, USNews and World Report have their agenda to bias against Obama- go figure

If Obama wants to keep current tax rates and deductions for those making less than $200K, how do you conclude that the bottom 40% will pay less? Are you implying that that they will make even less than now in the future Obama economy?

Two things that make Romney an non-vote for me: Medicare... I am in my early 50s and under no circumstances want subsidized premiums with a private carrier. I want the system as it is, and find a way to pay for it rather than continuing ten year old tax cuts. Secondly, we hear much about small businesses creating jobs. I have worked for many small businesses. They are all horrible to work for. Bad pay, no benefits, a job you take when you can find no other. And I do not feel inclined to subsidize them by giving them lower tax rates. If you want to start a business, figure your tax bill into your plans.

Article misrepresents that Obama's tax rates benefit poor more when they are using 2013 tax plan but then use a 2015 tax plan for Romeney. Compairing apples & oranges to lie to the public.

Two concerns: 1. Everyone talks about "tax the rich" or not, but then base taxes on income. Does no one recognize the difference between "Wealthy" and "High Income". Wealthy were job creators in base decades, the high income are todays job creators. Find a way to tax the "Wealthy" if you must (Gates and Buffett) but taxing the small business owner who is taking risk and creating jobs with his own money is shooting ones self in the foot.

2. The concept of a hand up, instead of a handout has gotten blurred. We need education at so many levels. We worry more about our kids learning sports and music then learning how to balance a check book or saving and investing for retirement. We worry more about our nonworking getting more unemployment then learning new skills. More about our poor using food stamps "as they please" then requiring that they learn a skill. Our parents wanted better for us but they knew that came thru knowledge and education. Free education isn't the answer either, people need to invest in themselves. We need incentives for people to get out and learn skills and get jobs and when they do they PAY taxes instead of collecting them via unemployment.

How can the bottom 40% pay "lower" taxes under Obama's proposed plan when they pay no income taxes as it is?

First, set up term limits for House & Senate. Lobbyists should have to be exposed to citizens by doing their lobbying by way of T.V. or with a specialized web site that all americans can read and be able to have input to Their representatives.Too often our representatives seem to forget that they are working for US.Since they are all worth more than $250,000 They can afford to buy their medical insurance ,take a pay cut,and not rely on a government pension.Take the greed out of career politician's hands.Insurance companies and lawyers are the cause of high costs in health care. How many congress persons are recipients of special favors ?Why are none of these issues never talked about ?Do our congress persons pay their own airfare to and fro Washington? Will anyone release their yearly salary?

Obama is a committed commuinty organizer that drew the right straw in life to be in the WH.

Romney has worked his way through life in Business and knows more about what works to sucessful, over that of buying votes through welfare and giveaways!
