While MOGL is humbled to be quoted in the USNEWS.com article it is actually NOT a daily deal service like Groupon.

MOGL is the first web-based customer loyalty program of its kind that leverages psychology, technology and clever game mechanics (rather than punch cards, coupons or membership I.D.s), to engage consumers and reward them for eating out at their favorite restaurants!

Unlike daily deal sites that offer one-time discounts or coupons, MOGL is disrupting the largely segmented loyalty space with a fun, easy and superior solution that both consumers AND restaurants love! The company celebrates a simple philosophy: reward your customers and they’ll reward you back.

MOGL’s innovative, three-pronged approach was designed after a close study of human behavior and psychology and drives consumer loyalty through three types of rewards: 10% cash back every time they eat out at participating restaurants, the ability to compete and win a monthly jackpot of up to $1,000, and the ability to donate a meal to someone in need every time they spend $20. MOGL’s seamless and secure technology platform tracks credit card transactions and activity, so that consumers simply pay their bill and earn rewards effortlessly.

Developed by a combination of seasoned software developers, game mechanic experts, and an experienced entrepreneur with a proven track record of success launching Internet-based businesses, MOGL has set out to change the way that consumers interact with the restaurant community on a grand scale.

In addition to developing the overarching MOGL platform, the company also offers a location-based mobile app for iPhone and Android, so that MOGL members can easily locate participating restaurants nearby, track their cash rewards and jackpot opportunities, as well as how many meals they have donated to date.

MOGL’s founders are passionate about giving back to the community and are proud to have corporate social responsibility as one of its three key pillars of the business. Through its Meal for a Meal program in partnership with Feeding America, MOGL donates thousands of meals each month to those in need, and continues to set monthly goals to motivate its members. Better yet, members can stay motivated and feel connected to the charity component of MOGL’s offering by tracking the meals donated on their behalf to date via MOGL’s mobile app or via the website.

Of course Groupon will fizzle, maybe not completely, there's too much @ risk if it fails, but it will be a fraction of its current size within the next 4 years.

Its business model is flawed. Whether businesses are willing to continue loosing money in order to, theoretically, make money is what's in question and not whether consumers are willing to buy goods @ a discounted rate ... they're always willing to do just that.

Obviously businesses are interested in gaining greater exposure; hence, this is the reason for their participation. But there are other sites, such as notemote.com, that offer exposure without the overhead.

Unfortunately, the ones that end up suffering are the ones who can least afford it. Once Groupon plows thru their ranks, whose left?

Finally, there is the issue of quality assurance. Consumers, perhaps in a number of cases, not receive the same level of purchase that they would receive were they to pay full price. Too many of these scenarios and well ...

But, hey, buy their stock and ride the wave of success their owners are going to enjoy. Just be sure to pull your money out '@ the right time'
