The headline and top of the article implied we would see a ranking of where Jobs stood among the titans of business. Where is the actual ranking? I read the whole article and scanned all the links. Bait and switch?

True as it may be Mr. Newman, you're missing the point. Without Steve Jobs, there would not have been a central driving force within the personal computing industry for innovation. Steve Jobs, and of course the creators of Google, the minds behind Intel, etc. have all had a hand in the computer world we live in, each contributing significantly; however, without Jobs (and the rest of the Apple team, of course), personal computing would have had far less imagination and thought put into it, and the resulting output from the industry would not have been what it is today.

Mr. Newman asks the right questions, but then seems to lack a grasp on how to answer them, skimming across the surface. The accomplishment of Steve Jobs has nothing to do with the micro-details Newman offers, saying he failed to improve life and that others invented circuitry, etc. Jobs envisioned a world in which computers played a central and varied role in the life of everyone, and were easy enough for anyone to use. Then he made it come to pass. He was our Edison and Rockefeller rolled into one, and the future, unencumbered by our like-Apple, hate-Apple game, will appreciate that.
