Who Will Benefit From the Slowing Economy

It would be nice if some people realized that Obama had clear majorities for his first two years in office--thats the DEFINITION of mutual cooperation in Washington. He focused on everything BUT the economy and has stated that he got 90% of what he desired accomplished. He has only recently discovered the economy, and only because it will directly impact to his reelection.

It would be nice if people would just work with Obama for once. Maybe something could get done if he had some mutual cooperation in Washington.

Economics 101 - the government can not get the nation out of a recession. They can only help pump money into the economy by going into debt, and have proper regulations in place. As we know the housing fiasco plummeted the world into a recession, as the banking industry lit the match. Citizens are blaming the government - though the government contains the law makers (not the job makers).

This is a new day, a new way of living for the middle class ~ at least for awhile.

I remember my parents only being able to get gasoline on certain days (depending upon your license plate number) in the 70's, along with terrorist hijacking planes routinely. I grew up the daughter of a 100% disabled Vietnam Vet who had his disability income taken away under Ronald Regan, and living in poverty while trying to recoup from the loss of income. I recall my parents purchasing their house in the 80's with interest rates unfathomably high at 14-15%, and unemployment rates hovering around the same percentage rate.

We adult Americans have lived the grand wealth during 90's and 2000's. We've been through tough times before, and we'll see them again the the future. So do your best to live the true American dream of democracy; not the American dream of having all that we want while drowning in debt. Don't blame the government, blame yourself for not taking care of your financial prosperity during the two decades of wealth. Americans at 0% savings in 2008, credit cards maxed, obtaining mortgages that were too big to pay when the interest % increased is not the fault of the government. The government need only to take responsibility for the banking regulations that failed.

Going forward during this mess, the government should continue to help the weakest of our nation - the young, elderly, the poor. From my vantage point, I'm sure most middle class Americans don't want to work at McDonalds or Walmart ~ so someone should be there to help them get affordable insurance for themselves and their family. You should not lose a loved one because you live in poverty but work full time, and can not afford insurance, buy medicine, or groceries.

Instead of pointing the finger at everyone, take the time to help fix your own problems and be there for your neighbors in need.

Producers of seeds and garden tools will also benefit since more people will be raising at least some of their own food. And they will eat healthier for it. More people will start making and repairing their own clothes - more pattern companies and more sewing machine sales. More people will take better care of their own vehicles - more tools and auto supply sales. More people will stop buying junk food - and feel great. Even one who must live in an apartment can learn skills that will enable them to be more independent and live well.

Obama delivered expertly on his campaign promise of HOPE and CHANGE. America's credit rating downgraded for the first time and poverty levels at an all time high - CHANGE. And with him in office - no HOPE.

America - you voted Obama into office to prove you're not racist, now vote him out to prove you're not dumb.

Vote all intrenched politicians out. Put America back on sound economic ground.

What percentage of those jobs will be filled by illegal aliens and thus create more drag and waste on our economy?

Obama was elected for CHANGE, and Obama decides not to assign special prosecutor to unravel financial crisis, not to prosecute potential wrongdoers (let the courts and people decide after the facts are exposed in court) appoints many of the movers and shakers to government positions, and the system remains unchanged. Obama caved to financial interests. He had a duty to shine a light on the process but refused. He is part of the problem. He is no everyman now.

What hasn't Obama done for the rich republican cry babies. He'll get re-elected for that alone. He is the funnel for public tolerance of the rich republican cry babies out there.... Wah... wah..... let me keep my lollipops..... wah.... i don't want to give back what we've worked so hard for to take.... like affordable health care, pensions, decent wages... wah... i like making 30 times what my workers make... wah... wah... my great grandpa would be proud of me.... wah... he paid 90% tax and was still rich while this country led the industrial revolution. they built bridges, dams, etc.. now we watch them all fall apart but look how rich i am.... wah... wah... take more away from everyone else.... wah... wah.... don't tax me like the old days... wah... i like paying less tax than the middle class.... wah.... wah..... i'm too big to fail so I get my bailout welfare check.... how do you like that free market capitalism system... the cost of living skyrockets and I get to pay my workers wages from over 10 years ago.... and they get to foot the bill for high medical costs, etc... I can't wait until I'm 66 so I can draw the social security check that I don't even contribute to for my income is way over 100k and they don't make me pay... ah... and I work real hard. my job requires me to say the word no... that's all i need to do.... wah... wah....

socialism is what the bailouts were. and those bailout recipients are the first ones to collect on social security when eligible even though they never paid social security tax on income above 100k per year. hey, they jacked up the price of college enough now so it's affordable by even less people even though it was free when they went in the 60's and 70's.....

it's de-regulation from a republican controlled senate, house, and president that allowed the financial industry to screw everyone but the upper class......

regan unleashed the beast by allowing that Merrill Lynch guy to be his right hand and selling this country into the stock market. we are forced to be gamblers........ the stock market is the only thing keeping this country afloat... it's just another vehicle used by the rich to take everyone elses money. it's never an even playing field... no one can afford the expensive high frequency trading servers that they rent........ how can we have pride in a country that only can stay afloat through deceit and exploitation.........
