Rick Perry's 4 Economic Vulnerabilities

Laura of FL, you say "Somehow the numbers don't make sense, 75000 but 115000." They are saying that the government created 115,000 jobs and the private sector lost 40,000 jobs. It's pretty simple math... If you subtract the private sector job loss from the jobs that the government created, you get 75,000. Simple math is pretty credible, right? I don't really have doubts with the statements reported.

First off, I do not agree with Perry's agenda, however you say

"Texas created about 75,000 jobs. That makes it one of the few states with any job creation at all over that time. But federal, state and local government hiring accounted for 115,000 new jobs in Texas, while private industry shed about 40,000 jobs."

Somehow the numbers don't make sense, 75000 but 115000, i dont know if im citing this the right way. Anyways if I were to cite ur article, these numbers would create doubt and credibility on the rest of ur argument.

@ Chad. The "filibuster proof" majority of the senate was broken two years ago when Ted Kennedy died and Scott Brown took his seat, not 8 months ago. This is what sank Obama's healthcare bill, and was the first spotlight of the wackjob teapartiers.

Rather desperate. If you chose the trough of the recession, private job creation is very significant in Texas - absolute and relatively. Newman's Fed defense is weak - there's a world of difference between the Fed's aggressive actions in the liquidity crisis of 2008 (which would be fully ratified by Bagehot's 19th century guide to central banking, "Lombard Street") and its risky and not very effective QE measures 2 years into "recovery." As for the rest of the government being "dysfuction[al]," I would note that the Democrats had both houses of Congress (including a fillibuster-proof Senate majority) and the presidency from 2009 to just 8 months ago, and if their Newman-endorsed policy prescriptions had been effective, they would still have them.

Mr. Newman refuses to list sources or discuss numbers. I've posted my numbers, but he never addresses critics. I can only conclude he is not interested in truth, only partisan bashing.

We could legally confiscate every asset of the Federal Reserve because it is unconstitutional! Then back all of our money with hard assets Which the illegal Federal Reserve Owns. America would have Trillions of dollars loaned to all the banks that put us in this perdicament.

Now that you have done an in debt analysis of Perry (the candidate) why don't you do the same for Obama (the President, sadly).

Why are journalist like Newman so uncurious about Obama's college records (which remain sealed) ????

Why are journalist like Newman so uncurious about Obama's medical records (which remain sealed) ????

Why were journalist like Newman so uncurious about candidate Obama sitting in a church for 20 years listening to a racist, white hating, America hating preacher ???

Why are journalist like Newman so uncurious as to why Michelle Obama's school records are all sealed ???

Why are journalist like Newman so uncurious as to why Michelle Obama was given a $317,000 a year part-time job when her husband was the Senator who procured a large grant for that hospital ???

(the job went unfilled when Michelle went to Washington leading me to believe that it was a quid-pro-quo, patronage reward)

Why were these same uncurious journalist so 'curious' about Sarah Palin that they camped out in Alaska and are still raeding her e-mails ???

These 'mainstream media' journalist want me to believe that they are objective and unbiased but I'm not buying it....

@robtr

I am seriously interested in his sources. I tried all sorts of things to try and match his numbers including non-farm payroll. However, that did not work out either. I would hate to argue that farm jobs don't count.

We will see if Mr. Newman reads the comments and responds with sources.
