How Rick Perry Created Jobs in Texas

Truth of the matter is that Rick Perry has been another innefective Texas governor. The people of Texas and Texas buisnesses on their own are the ones that keep the economy humming along. Rick is another puppet that was installed in office by the wealthy elite of that state. He supports legislation as he is told to support by those he must repay his election debt to. Wake up America. This is how politics works in this country now. The past several presidents (despite party affiliation) were elected in the same manor and operate the same way. These people run for office strictly for narcissistic reasons. They have no interest in the wellbeing of the worker bees.

What percentage of Texas' job increase was at the cost of a decrease in other states' jobs?

Julie Branin of TX 12:28PM October 12, 2011

Don't see any evidence that Perry "created" or had anything to do with the jobs growth in Texas... he was just there as things happened...

Most of these jobs were at or below minimum wage!

Three areas in this analysis should be highlighted for the non-Texans in the audience.

1. State government jobs up 8.4%: like GWB, he says he's against big government, but always has room to use taxpayer money to pay off campaign contributors with government jobs.

2. Private education jobs up 17.4%. Perry and his cronies have wages a covert war on teachers’ unions by easing regulations on "Charter Schools" that receive the same amount per student as public schools, but don't have to pay regular teacher salaries (or even have certified teachers). While Perry had the state lay off thousands of union teachers, he somehow found the money to pay for hundreds of new charter schools in Texas. Bottom line - less quality education for the students, more profits to use as 'campaign contributions' for Perry's supporters. By the way, those 'evil' union teachers still earn less on average than almost every other state (union or not).

3. Construction jobs down 14.5%. That does not count the thousands of alien workers the state uses for road and other construction jobs that don't show up on the books. Since the largest state contractors are also some of the largest campaign contributors for Perry, regulation of the industry in almost nil.

One other thing that needs clarification is that the reason Texas didn't get hit as hard with the housing bust had nothing to do with Perry. In fact, the strict government regulation on the mortgage industry in Texas that was put in place by the Democrats (before Delay gerrymandered them out of power) is the only thing that saved us.

If Perry had had his way, those regulations would have gone the way of the environmental regulations he removed before putting 11 new unregulated coal power plants in the state. That cost Texas thousands of acres of agricultural land that's now unusable because of the added pollution.

Bottom line-if you elect him President; could we please secede so that we don't get screwed by him twice?

Perry is all hat and no cattle. And his pants are too tight.A George Bush clone. We don't want to go down that ugly path again. We can't afford the new wars.

Unemployment rate is % 8.4, and has gone up in the last year and a half

Rick Perry is a texan who spins tales that Texas is famous for. As a third generation native with plenty of gray hairs and a lifetime of active political observation and participation I can honestly state that Rick Perry is a semi-fraud. I also consider most of his peers to be the same.

I am not jaded or negative. I just want chronicled achievements to be truth.

In six years prior, Rick has no positive history. He is kind of a "default" guy. Tort reform was entirely GWB and was not a walk in the park. State income tax is the peoples will. Texans will not stand for it. Just even talk about it and you will come under severe political attack.

Job growth has been default because of other states onerous law and taxes. Texas also has an abundance of skilled and unskilled workers.

The stores are jammed with illegals buying deep into the night. Texas also has a lot of land (room) so rents and cost of living is low.

Rick had nothing to do with this.

When Rick did act, it was a cluster disaster. His plan to force all girls to have a vaccination against sexually transmitted diseases made Obama's mandatory edicts look like child's play.

His approval of Spanish toll roads and subsequent deeding US and Texas property for 50-100 years was done Obama style (in the middle of the night without voter approval. He gave Spain territory and right of way that he and his rubber stamp legislature had no legal right to give.

For those last two events, I do not think he could get re-elected in Texas.

He is so flawed the media and the libs want him to be a contender so as to expose him at the last minute (same way Obama got his senate seat) and the election of a flawed candidate in John McCain.

Dems licked their chops when McCain put serious questions off limits with his false sense of honorable criticism.

"State government jobs Texas: Up 8.4 percent. U.S.: Down 0.1 percent"

Texas population growth: Up 8%

With republicans constantly touting smaller government, why is it that most of Texas job growth is in government jobs. Seems like Rick Perry is going against his own party's stance. Perry constantly applauds his job growth in Texas but increasing government spending on government jobs may noy be the best answer to the unemployment problem. His job creation policies are seriously in question. So in the overall picture of job creation he has done little for his state. It is always interesting to see politicans pad their resume with fradulant numbers. Just another example of politican a not so truthful politican!
