Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor died this morning after being shot by what police believe was an intruder. Vice President Cheney is expected to be back at work today after doctors yesterday administered an electric shock to his heart, restoring it to its normal rhythm. Doctors discovered the problem—atrial fibrillation—on Monday, and Cheney was seen in the evening at George Washington University Hospital. He has had a history of heart troubles and procedures including four heart attacks, quadruple bypass surgery, and two artery-clearing angioplasties. He has also had a defibrillator, which monitors his heartbeat, implanted and then replaced in his chest.
