Five suicide bombings in Iraq this morning have killed at least 29 people, including nine in a busy Baghdad hotel where the bomber penetrated several layers of security.

New studies on North Carolina beaches estimate that rising sea levels could push the coast inland by 2,000 to 10,000 feet over the next 75 years. 

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez told soldiers Sunday to prepare for a "resistance war" against the United States, which he believes is waging an underhanded campaign to topple his government.

A Virginia veterinarian has discovered that a black reef shark at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center in Virginia Beach was pregnant when she died, despite not having access to males, in what is possibly the second case of "virgin birth" among sharks discovered in the past decade. A shark at a Nebraska zoo also gave birth without the presence of a male in 2001.
