Duke Prosecutor to Quit

Mike Nifong, the embattled prosecutor in the discredited rape case involving the Duke University lacrosse team, has announced his intention to resign. He made the surprise announcement during a state hearing about his legal ethics in Raleigh, N.C.

U.S. News published a report last year that detailed the media’s role in promoting Nifong’s accusation as well as subsequent skepticism.
