Here is a historical context in regard with Iran and Iraq relation way past the western colonial history version of it, since the creation of Persia as the first world multi-national empire 2500 years ago, "Iraq" was part of her domain as a Satrap (province), Tisphone in south of Bagdad was once a capitals of Persia, the only times Iraq was not part of Iran were; for few hundred years after Arab invasion in 7AD and for last several hundred years since Ottomans invasion which let to British dismantling of Ottomans and creation of "Iraq".

Most westerners seems to be shocked that Iraq Shiites are aligned with Iran since they don't know Shia come to be created as viable and state religion in 15 AD by Iran, not only to separate Iranian with Arab society but also because Shiaism is hereditary system much like monarchy, also Kurds which are residing in most of eastern Anatolia and northern Iraq much like Persians are from Indo-Aryan stock and through out history they were part of greater Iran and still today share a same cultural events and traits, naturally it's not surprise to see "Iraq" coming back to her roots since they are more connected to Iran rather to new resurrected phenomena of Arabism which only comes to be known after her creation by British in last century and being perpetuated by westerners to separate and weaken the region in order to steal her natural resources.

have memories of their long war in the 1980's. The leaders may cozy-up some. The people?
