Sarah Palin is again joining forces with Fox News.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate will return to the network as a contributor five months after she left. She will appear on Fox News's daytime and primetime programming, a network spokesman said, and will contribute to the Fox Business Network. She is scheduled to begin her new job with an appearance on "Fox and Friends" Monday.

"The power of Fox News is unparalleled," Palin said in a news release. "The role of Fox News in the important debates in our world is indispensable."

Added Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes: "I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming. I hope she continues to speak her mind."

After leaving Fox News in January – completing a three-year stint – Palin told Breitbart News she didn't want to "just preach to the choir" and would attempt to speak to a "larger audience."

Fox's rehiring of Palin suggests that the former governor wants to maintain her national profile and suggests that network executives believe she can still draw lots of viewers.

She has remained popular among conservatives and is a strong critic of President Obama. Palin is writing a book about the importance of keeping religion at the center of celebrations of Christmas, to be published in November.
