The political action committee most feared by the Democrats has begun its final attack on President Obama.
American Crossroads announced that it is starting a $7.4 million ad campaign in four battleground states criticizing Obama's failure to sufficiently strengthen the economy and create jobs. The 30-second commercial will run for one week in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, a Crossroads spokesman said.
The ad, entitled "Four More," asks why voters would want four more years of the same failed policies they've had since Obama took office in January 2009.
"Obama's weak leadership on the economy over the last four years has yielded weak results and a weaker America," said American Crossroads President Steven Law. "If the last four years saw the worst economic recovery in modern history, why should voters expect another four years of Obama to be any different?"
Crossroads, a "super PAC" that has demonstrated an ability to raise tens of millons of dollars, was co-founded by Karl Rove, the architect of President George W. Bush's two White House victories. It has spent $50 million since May, while Crossroads GPS, an affiliated group, has spent an additional $30 million.
Leaders of the two groups say they plan to spend $300 million in the current election cycle.
