Poll: Should Conservative Christians Renounce Carrie Prejean's Lewd Pursuits?

Wow people on the left on this site make several themes that are repeated .

1) 'She had a right to her opinions but then went on a holier than thou crusade afterwards'. Nice revisionist history there but she was attacked for almost a week on the web entertainment sites Perez Hilton,MSNBC called a bi***,cu**,Barak Obama's political advisor David Axelrod in front of the National Press Club made a joke about wanting to call his dog Mrs California.(looked it up on Drudge where I got the video), her mothers divorse was actually looked into, and every other word in the book was called before the pageant came out and gave an incredibly weak defense of her, and even Donald Trump said he would still have Perez Hilton as a judge again. Thanks for nothing what was she suppose to do sit there and take it you idiots?

2)' She had fake boobs'! Where has any and I mean any conservative person on the right commented on 'you only go to heaven if you have real boobs'? Sorry this is a real giveaway that the person is to the left and is now projecting they believe tightly wound up Christian SHOULD believe!

3)Hypocrite,hypocrite,hypocrite!!! Favortite tactic of the left again shouts down argument. See they say conservative moralize and are JUDGEMENTAL!!! HORRORS!!. No actually they have standards and know man will fall from them but we don't get rid of the standards.Anyone bothering to see where Carrie comes down on sin should at least find out what she has said before this all came out about her. In her book she actually mentions she worked with a group JC's Girls that helps strippers and other girls in trouble and she says she wants to love them and share a better way.Far from being totally judgemental she says at her church strippers who still strip do attend church and are welcome but that her pastor is clear on where the church stands but is there to help when they want to take the next step. She also in her book reprinted a letter she made to her fans apologizing for the pictures that first came out. If you espouse NO standard then your OK because you can never be criticezed how convenient!!Look she fell and sinned and has said in an interview in BIGHOLLYWOOD.com 'don't do it if it's something you would not want you mother, father pasotr or God to see'. Now I couldn't ask anymore from someone and we will all know now the next time your asked a 'politically ' correct question at a beauty pajeant you better answer correctly or you and your families personal history will opened up and you will be destroyed. So much for tolernce from the Gay Gestapo and cultural leftists. We know the score and where your tolerance really is 'tolerance for me but not for thee'.

"renounce her appearances in racy photos and obscene videotapes?" Yes, but rejoice that like the woman of John 8, she has gone and sinned no more. Leave her alone and rejoice in her testimony of deliverance and growth in Jesus!

What did Jesus teach us about forgiveness? We are qualified to cast stones if we are sinless and the only sinless I am aware of said to fill my heart with eternal love.

She is a hate-mongering HYPOCRITE...plain and simple!

This girl was a fake and a liar from the start. She knows exactly what she has done, and she continues in her arrogant, narcissistic way. I think she enjoys the spotlight. If she wants to change, she needs to walk away completely from all of this and start over. I think she is too arrogant for that. As for christians denouncing her, don't bank on Sean Hannity doing that. He probably can't wait to see her video.

I stopped reading their materials and stopped supporting when they refused to denounce the pornographical modelling swimsuit pics that Carrie took quite recently and claimed to be a teenager. Carrie claimed she was a teen and that the photographer took advantage of her with the wind blowing her blouse. Focus was quite argumentative in support of Ms. Prejean as a good role model for "family values." I do not want my daughters to model this as appropriate and modest behavior becoming to a representative of Christ. I am sorry. They do need to apologize to both the public and to Carrie for using her.

I am a Christian and never, ever would I think of doing anything even close to what Carrie has done. She is not a model Christian--she is a hypocrite that is using Christianity as facade. Yes, Christians aren't perfect however she does not even take fault for her mistakes so how can she be forgiven? She continues to lie and I don't want to be associated with someone like her. She's a disgrace to Christianity.

I don't care if she shoved a truck into herself and videotaped it. She's against gay marriage, and that's good enough for me. Godbless.

Let's hypothecate a little and say that Carrie did lie about her age in the recording and that she gave a misleading impression that there was only one such recording. Why would she do that? When we're in a tight spot we're all prone to making poor choices. Think how hard it must be if you know the world is watching your every word and that millions of people are just waiting for you to make a slip-up so they can tear you to pieces. Carrie had to deal with that. She had also become a poster child for the conservative movement, which had given her so much support. Isn't it natural that she wouldn't want to disappoint them or let them down in any way? What about her family, friends, church, publisher and all those who have drawn inspiration from her? Who wouldn't consider lying to protect them, no matter how misguided and wrong an act that may be?

None of this makes Carrie evil, a hypocrite, or less of a Christian. It simply makes her human.

Perhaps that's why some on the Christian right now appear to be turning against her. They turned her into an idol and her alledged lapses have knocked the crown they placed upon her head. They feel that they've been made to look bad for backing her and have turned away from her or, in some cases on her. What's striking about this is that it has nothing do with being a Christian, it's about politics and perception.

I think that the Christians out there who have turned on Carrie need to get back to basics. Have you forgotten about such things as love and forgiveness? Have you forgotten the words of Matthew 7:1? If Carrie lied then the Christian thing to do is forgive her and show her the love she needs to get back on track, not turn your backs on her. Being Christian means sticking by people, no matter how hard our faith in them is tested, because we only really advance as a species through love and compassion for eachother, not through damnation and abandonment.

I urge every Christian to go out there and stand up for Carrie, do something to defend her, show her she's loved no matter what. Post on Twitter or Facebook, comment on some blog posts, write an article, whatever. Carrie needs you, so quit complaining, step up and be a Christian.

Focus on the family should not only be willing to name this sin as sin, but, since they lay implicit claim to judgment on sexual sins, are under a greater obligation to name this particular sin as sin.

Reasoning:

1. This is scandal.

2. This is sexual. (also, this is sexual sin.)

3. This is a sexual scandal.

4. Scandal is sin.

5. This is a sexual sin and a sin of scandal.

6. Groups which claim to judge sin should be willing to name it even when it involves their own.

7. Groups which claim to judge a particular type of sin should especially name it when it appears to be that type of sin.

8. Focus on the Family claims to judge sin.

9. Focus on the Family claims to judge sexual sin.

10. Focus on the Family should be willing to name this sin.

11. Focus on the Family should especially name this sin.

12. Focus on the family should not only be willing to name this sin as sin, but, since they lay implicit claim to judgment on sexual sins, are under a greater obligation to name this particular sin as sin.

I say this as a Christian. I have lots of faults of my own, and I am nowhere near perfect in naming all of my sins, but I also don't go around naming the sins of others to the same degree as FOTF. Perhaps I should start doing both, but I'm not quite strong enough for that, yet.
