Notice he puts down the great comission. I believe this is done to show that he has gone far beyond the christian thing thanks to his growth from his lying, adultery and homosexual lifestyle.

He may have been forgiven for those, but pride still is a sin.

I have a feeling that he has been influenced by wordly philosophy and false teachings that have been going on throughout the Christain church at large. Years ago, Roman Catholic seminaries had professors were teaching bizarre things, including high ranking theologians that were not standing foursquare on the HOLY SCRIPTURES. Haggard has accepted some of the psychobabble and spurious and false Christain positions on sexual ethics which go against the traditional and centuries old positions of orthodox Christainity. I cannot fathom why some Pentecostal schools of higher learning like the Assembly of God seminary in Springfield, MO are so concerned to keeping up with the other liberal denominations who crave recognitions and awards from the secular authorities.

I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. --Mohandas Gandhi

He is prepared to preach about the nonsense that is religion better than anyone. He has broken many of the tenets of his religion and, to me, that makes him worth listening to. If he choses to put his gayness behind him and disparage that part of him, than you are right only simple minded people will listen. Otherwise he is as worthy to preach as anyone I see on TV.

Someday you'll accept people come in all shapes, colors and orientations and deserve to pray to the same God you pray to. Until then, you may be one of the simple minded fools.

Haggard entire moral resume makes him unworthy at any level to counsel others. But, a sucker is born every minute so he will find plenty of people to practice his hypocrisy on while he steals their money. If i weren't already an Atheist i would say "Oh My God!"

I'm not so sure a leadership position of any kind is the right move. It gives the lost a right to laugh at us once again. Maybe Mr. Haggard should first give back his wages and THEN I might consider it to be ok. The money thing is what keeps people out of church. Clearly this man was greedy and misused his authority for the purpose of getting wealth. And one sin simply led to another in order to expose him. So he needs to give back ALL of the wages he scammed his own people out of while he was living a lie. Again, repentance is an ACTION not a "sorry". Maybe the church will someday go back to the cross and forget about the "Gospel of self" that has polluted the church. I believe Mr. Haggard is truly repentive, but the action I spoke of, if he goes through with it, will not allow the world to condemn him any longer. It would help him a great deal and give him much deeper roots for a legitimate comeback. I hope he is reading this. The reason things don't get resolved in marraiges, relationships, etc, is because of what I just stated. It's some action THAT IS REQUIRED. Much given, much required, I didn't say it, you know who did. SO do the right thing Ted and get on with it, I'll be praying for you.....

Paul killed christians prior to starting churches and writing 2/3 if the New Testament, Luke robbed people by collecting illegitimate taxes, and you...I'm sure you get the point. We all have issues, but it is the act of laying them at the foot of the cross and choosing to follow God’s way and not our own that makes the difference. That is what the Gospel is about.

I attended New Life Church until I moved to Iowa just a scant month before Ted resigned at NLC. I gues I need my opinion to be known. While Ted admittedly engaged in immorality and sin I am led to look at what Jesus did for Mary Magdalene when the community was ready to stone her for he indiscresions. Let he among you whom is without sin cast the first stone... yet not a single person remained to throw stones indicating that they all realized that they too are sinners and have sinned. The Bible states that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Only Jesus has ever been sinless. I follow the idea that when we are truly filled with the Holy Spirit and walk under the power of the Holy Spirit submissively then God - through the Holy Spirit can judge us and condem us of our sins. I believe it is an individual path from condemnation forgiveness and changing behavioral patterns. I know that Ted is spirit-filled, I know that Ted asked in prayer that the truth be knwn about everything just a week before this came to light. Talk about answered prayer! But I believe Ted did the right thing, immediately stepping down, Apologizing and asking for forgiveness and seeking rehabilitaion of his behaviors.

I assume that Ted has intensely rehabilitated himself with the help of professionals and the Spirit alike. No human being has the right to judge Ted, never has and never will for the Spirit is the helper and condemner of our sins individually and I don't believe and human being has a right to judge any other human beings behavior except a judge in the legal systm appointed by God. If Ted asked for forgiveness, has rehabilitated his behaviors and wants to share with others his path then let him. If your sins were shown would you pass the muster? Ted, God forgives youas you have asked. The Spirit guides you in the right direction ad if you want to have "church' and fellowship in your living room then don't let any pharasitical believers stop you, I wish I still lived there because I would more than happily attend. God Bless you Ted Haggard and May the Holy Spirit continue to lead your steps foward as a helper, comforter and a condemner.
