But... but... the Ninth Commandment "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

Plus, if Ray's god actually exists and is omniscient and omnipotent, it's hell and damnation for Ray :)

Nonsense and denial are easy.

Science and understanding take work - they're hard.

Ray can keep rattling off his standard creationist statements, and it will take so much more work to honestly refute him. Ray is not bound by the limits of honesty.

Real understanding is so very rewarding. Ray Comfort's lying is soul-destroying. Ray is simply selling his integrity for his 15 minutes of fame.

Alas, "U.S. News" is funding Ray's degeneracy.

<<"How come creationists never, ahem, "lecture" us on gravity, relativity or quantum mechanics in the same way they misrepresent biology/evolution?">>

Well, I'm sure we've all heard people (especially creationists) refer to gravity as a "law", but on another forum there is one creationist who still insists that birds and planes are able to fly by "manipulating gravity". Naturally, this has led to much mirth.

Joe: "If we evolved from a chimp, why are there still chimps? Shouldn't we have taken their place? Evoltuion is the changing of one species to another is it not."

Not the way you seem to think, no.

"Calling someone stupid is also not proof of anything but the ignorance of the poster."

You pretending you know evolution is false without understanding what evolution is to begin with certainly proves your ignorance. Ignorance can be fixed. If you never bother to fix your ignorance, though, then you are stupid.

@Nick of XX -

"He didn't see Croco-duck. (grin)"

Indeed, I was expecting that reply from him at one point. It's amazing how those who *nothing* about evolution ("I'm not an expert on the subject of evolution" - Ray Comfort) feel the need to lecture the actual experts on the subject, all the while making such elementary mistakes along the way.

The irony of course is that they have no idea they are making such mistakes because they know nothing about the subject. Sigh!

How come creationists never, ahem, "lecture" us on gravity, relativity or quantum mechanics in the same way they misrepresent biology/evolution?

<<"no transitional fossils">>

One word: Tiktaalik.

<<"I belive it is because they do not exist.">>

And that's your problem. You won't be convinced no matter how much evidence is provided. This is dishonest.

<<"Nicks "explanation" of evolution only explains that everything on earth shares some qualities with other similar things.">>

Only if you wish to believe that nearly 200,000 retro-viruses that randomly insert themselves into the genome across nearly half of its 3 billion bases just so happened to do so in the exact same places in separate ancestors of humans, chimps, gorillas, and orangutans.

What are the chances we got the same disease? Pretty good.

What are the chances we got a few of the same diseases? Not bad.

What are the chances we got ALL the same diseases? Well not fantastic...

What are the chances we got all the same diseases 200,000 times? Um well, uh...

What are the chances that all these diseases we co-incidentally shared RANDOMLY inserted themselves into the EXACT SAME PLACES of the 3 billion base genome out of a possibility of almost one and a half BILLION?

Does anyone feel the need to pray right now?

<<"If we evolved from a chimp, why are there still chimps?">>

If Americans came from Europeans, why are there still Europeans? We didn't evolve from chimps. We evolved from a common ancestor millions of years ago.

<<"If I may ask, what do you expect a transitional fossil to actually look like? What did you see in the Smithsonian?">>

He didn't see Croco-duck. (grin)

So Ray Comfort will only accept evolution if we discover a cow with a non-functioning udder?

This boggles the mind. Apparently Comfort hasn't understood that "survival of the fittest" requires, at a minimum, survival. And a cow with a non-functional udder will not have any surviving offspring.

Why anyone would take this bozo seriously is beyond me. He ought to be embarrassed for exposing his ignorance of the subject he is criticizing - and so publicly.

norm of VA misguidedly sneered:

"DNA mutation from X-Ray Radiation?? which movies have you been watching? So the longer necked animals eat the food high in the trees and then die and fossilize, IT WILL NEVER TURN INTO A BIRD!!! It doesn't transition into another species!"

The sun produces all of the above. It arrives, breaks through the earth's atmosphere, just as visible light does. All stars produce these kinds of light and waves. We're getting bomarded from all sides by it.

I realize that I'm talking to someone whose mind is stuck in the 5th century, but try to think a little more like someone who lives in an age with access to modern physics and biology. Even though you're ignorant of it, it doesn't mean you have the vaguest idea how to criticize it. If you shut up and think, maybe you'll learn something.

It surely can't be a sin to use your brain or have intellectual honesty, is it?

"DNA mutation from X-Ray Radiation?? which movies have you been watching?"

The content of any cinematic production does not alter the fact that X-ray radiation is one known cause of genetic mutation.

"So the longer necked animals eat the food high in the trees and then die and fossilize, IT WILL NEVER TURN INTO A BIRD!!!"

I am unaware of any individual who has proposed that the former event will result in the latter occurrence. I believe that you are objecting to a concept that no one has proposed. Can you please explain the rational basis for your statement?

'It doesn't transition into another species!"

If you are suggesting that speciation has not been observed, then you are mistaken: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-speciation.html
