What would Jesus say about our Healthcare debate? The same thing HE said when he walked this earth. He came here to show us that God is a personal God. He told us that WE are to take care of EACH OTHER--PERSONALLY. He did not tell us that the GOVERNMENT should take care of everyone. WE are to take PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for the poor. One of the first gifts God gave us was our FREE WILL to do or not to do what God has commanded us. HE would NEVER FORCE us as our GOVERNMENT is doing, to take care of the poor. Does forcing you to take care of someone make you a better person? NO. As history shows, the more GOVERNMENT does for its people, the LESS people do for each other PERSONALLY.

"Money might still bounce from the feds to an abortion provider but IT'S MUCH MORE INDIRECT". You are kidding right? So, if it's much more indirect it's OK? Get your head out of your ___!!

I am deeply saddened by the comments I just read; it's not a partisan issue or one about health care. A child, whether in the womb or "born" is a living, breathing human being. The people who wrote these comments or share the same mentality seem to have no sense of morality or principal, but rather are rather self centered..

I will say that it's nearly impossible any longer to get the simple truth given all the "news static & opinions" that are "shot blasted" at the public; and without any accountability...

There is a difference between:

- paying for an insurance policy that covers abortion

- stoning (your words) "that wh*re going into the abortion clinic"

Helping the sick and the needy. That's what Obama's health care plan is about. Now if Jesus came back today to join the health care debate today does anyone in their right mind think that He would've said "Forget about the poor and the sick-it's time to stone that wh*re going into the abortion clinic!" ?

Not Abortion & Abortion.

If that is all you think religion is about, I pity you.

Any chance of some journalism being committed here? Cutting and pasting from the press releases and comments of men who would tell women they must become and remain walking wombs hardly counts. Dan, we get it, you don't like abortion, but millions (and millions) of the nation's Catholics have no time for their bishops' obsession over it, and if they were reading, would tell you to move on.

The Right has no substantive ideas on how to fix anything. They only try to divide, frighten and reject.

Weedge issues are intended to create fear, and switch off people's good sense. The Republicans are all about keeping things as they are....isn't that what ruined our economy during the Bush presidency and allowed insurance companies to rip us all off?

When was the last time the Republicans really proposed anything? Oh yea - they started the Iraq war. Great idea. No wonder they don't want to suggest any others.....
