Obama Isn’t Budging on Abortion in Healthcare Reform

Dan Gilgoff, God & Country

President Obama devoted a single line of his speech to Congress last night to the debate over abortion coverage in healthcare reform:

And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up: under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.

That sounds like an endorsement of the House healthcare bill's approach to abortion coverage, which Democrats say forbids federal dollars from funding abortion in private healthcare plans that receive government subsidies. Conservatives dismiss the purported abortion funding ban as a "paper fiction."

It's worth noting that Obama didn't acknowledge the growing concern of religious progressives about Americans in the public health insurance plan being forced to fund abortions with their premiums.

On abortion—and for the moment—the White House isn't budging at all.

It isn't just conservatives that consider the funding ban on abortion a "paper fiction." The nonpartison Annenberg Foundation's website www.factcheck.org also comes up with the same conclusion.

Dr. Shade speaks the Truth and defends Love.

Love does not destroy.

Love does not rejoice in wrong doing.

Love rejoices in the Truth.

Love is not jealous.

Lust is not Love.

Abortion is not Love.

Love rejoices in the Truth.

The Truth will set us Free.

Seek, Speak, Share, + Defend the Truth.

Respect, Protect, + Love Life.

Love is what life is about.

You can have money, a home, a car, power, and many great things, but without love you are empty and poor.

Unconditional Love is worth more than all the wealth of the world, all the worldly stuff, all the power or status, and all the pleasures of this world.

We love you aa unconditionally and we understand your hurt. Know that you where made for a purpose and that purpose was to Love and be Loved.

There is one that is perfect at unconditional Love and he can take your pain away. He is waiting but you must open the door. He will not force his way in. He knows you have been hurt and wants to remove the hurt. Unconditional Love is the only way the hurt can be healed. He will shine grace on you and heal you but you must ask for help so that he can flood you with the healing Love.

We love you aa unconditionally.

Love is Truth. The Truth is that Love can change everything. Love does not tire or sleep. Love endures and lasts forever. Love can only help and will if you invite it in.
