I am a Canadian and have no vote in USA, but President Obama spoke hope and I trusted him to be a good commonsense man with integrety and love for the truth. I keep praying that the Holy Spirit will cause him to see God's will, because I believe it is God who put President Obama in power.

After a close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy's Health committee, contradict the President's assurances. Within the Seattle medical practices there is much talk about quitting between practitioners if the health care plan gets put through.

Its not that wanting universal healtcare isn't a praiseworthy thing: its that there are MILLIONS of unborn cries for life drowning it out.

If we succeed passing a bill that is ambiguous in keeping abortion out of its coverage it will be Obama 1 Millions of unborn 0.

The Health Care Bill does not exclude abortion funding.

Abortion is slaughter of 3200 babies a day and 1.2 Million a year in American.

Abortion is the #1 cause of death in America.

In 36 years America has slaughter 9 times more babies to abortion than all the people Hitler killed in concentration camps. Abortion is a holocaust.

This is the Truth as written by a christian. This is not a Republican, Democrat, Independent issue. It is a moral issue and question about what America sees as most important. Our wants and comfort for health care should not leave the door open for the slaughter of abortion.

If there were no hidden agenda to support abortion then it would it is simple to be explicit in the bill. They could simply write it in. They could write: Abortion will in no way be supported or funded by this bill.

They are attempting to hide the support of abortion and don't want to address it because it is ugly. America is better than this and the majority of us don't want abortion as part of our health care plan. We know it is wrong.

Stand firm until they are explicit with wording in the bill that abortion is not in the Health Care Bill.

Abortion is not health care. Abortion is war against Life. Abortion is wrong.

An unborn baby is the weakest, poorest, most depended, most needy, and least of our people. How do we treat our poor? Do they get a choice? Do we show them Love?

Love does not destroy.

This is the Truth that Christian Leaders are speaking. They are telling the Truth to protect Life.

As an Evangelical pro-life Christian who voted for Barack Obama, I believe the Right's refusal to believe President Obama's express support of the Hyde amendment in his Health Care speech is bad faith.

I keep waiting for someone in the pro-life movement (a movement which I've been part of in print and in action, including arrest for peacefully blocking a clinic) to praise the President for excluding abortion from his Health Care plan.

But no. The ideological walls must be kept high, the myths re conspiracy intact.

Well, shame on you. And keep it up. The Republican Party is losing Christians of conscience in droves, especially those who are younger but also those of us who've been around long enough to see where voting for supposed "pro-life" Presidents got us.

Ante up, fellow pro-lifers. Give praise for where praise is due. Or don't expect this pro-lifer to support your organizations in any way, shape, or form.

Liberals always seem to be sticking fact check sites in other people's faces as if they are gospel. If abortion isn't in the health care bill, why do the fact check sites say it is?

Release from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), September 9, 2009, 9:45 PM EDT

OBAMA PERPETUATES ABORTION FUNDING MYTH

IN JOINT SESSION ADDRESS

WASHINGTON – In his address to a joint session of Congress tonight, President Obama said, "One more misunderstanding I want to clear up -- under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions."

Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee, commented: "Barack Obama needs to learn that the mere repetition of a verbal formula does not change reality. The reality is that the Obama-backed House bill would explicitly authorize the federal government insurance plan to pay for elective abortions and would explicitly authorize subsidies for private abortion insurance -- and all with federal dollars, which are the only kind of dollars that the federal government can spend."

The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) in recent days released definitive memoranda that demonstrate that (1) the "Hyde Amendment" would not apply to the new programs that would be created by the Obama-backed health bill, H.R. 3200, and (2) that all of the funds that would be spent on elective abortions under the bill, and all of the funds that would be spent to subsidize private insurance plans that cover abortion, would be "federal funds" in both the legal sense and in the sense in which those terms are used throughout the government. The memoranda are here:

http://www.nrlc.org/ahc

"The claim that a federal agency would be spending private funds on abortion, not federal funds, is absurd on its face, a political hoax," Johnson said.

A September 8 NRLC media advisory that summarizes these issues is posted here:

http://www.nrlc.org/AHC/Advisory090809.html

The advisory contains links to the detailed memoranda that disprove the "Hyde Amendment myth" and the "government will spend private funds on abortions myth."

Guess what, he did mention it and he did put the lies to rest. Abortions are not funded, never were intended to be funded and it is time that people hold themselves accountable for undermining health care reform because of a non-truth. It is time we concern ourselves for the living as well as the unborn. Why can't we care about both?
