Religious Conservative Rick Santorum Dips Toe in Presidential Waters

Politico reports that former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is dipping a toe in the presidential waters, with a handful of appearances in Iowa this fall.

The 2012 Republican field is filling up with religious conservatives, despite the conventional wisdom that the GOP must regain the middle after losing big in 2008. Besides Santorum, a darling of the Christian right who got trounced by Bob Casey Jr. in Pennsylvania in 2006, there's:
