Obama: Why Government Shouldn't Fund Abortion

With all the hand-wringing over whether federal healthcare reform will wind up financing abortion with taxpayer money, I'm surprised that President Obama's remarks on the matter haven't gotten more attention. Here's Obama telling Katie Couric last week why the federal government should avoid funding abortion:

I'm pro-choice, but I think we also have the tradition in this town, historically, of not financing abortions as part of government-funded healthcare. My main focus is making sure that people have options of high-quality care at the lowest possible price.

Why haven't abortion-rights groups expressed chagrin? Why aren't antiabortion-rights groups brandishing Obama's words as they pressure Congress to ban federally funded abortion as part of healthcare reform? And where are the "common ground" groups that you'd think would be latching onto the remarks to argue that the prospect of federally funded abortions is a red herring?

You know that pro-choice should be anybody's option. Really people? Okay so you would rather ban abortion and than have the procedure become underground, it will still happen even if it illegal or banned, take drugs for instance. I think we should all take into consideration, the fact that if it was underground it would be unsanitary and NOT done by professional doctors. Risking even more lives than having abortion legalized. Plus where do you get off saying who should or shouldn't have an abortion. It is honestly the decision of the people involved in the unborn child. Not others around. The same thing goes for gay marriage, everybody should be given the right to love whomever they so choose on the fact of man or woman. Think of every outcome of banning abortion. I thought about it and I'm only 16.

The Truth about Planned Parenthood:

Did you know, In just two years there are more unborn American babies (more than 2.4 Million) that die from abortion than all the Americans that have died from all our wars (less than 1.4 Million).

Honor to our soldiers:

Suction Abortion is where they suck the unborn baby out of the mothers womb with a vacuum.

Dismemberment Abortion is where they take forcepts to dismember the babies parts and pull them out of the mother womb. They rip the legs, arms, and body apart to extract the unborn baby. Then they crush the head to remove it.

Partial Birth Abortion is where they deliver everything but the head of the baby, They then stick a pair of scissors into the back of the neck of the unborn baby to seperate it's spine. Then they use the vacuum to suck the babies brain out.

Do you support the suction abortion, the dismemberment abortion, or the partial birth abortion?

Which of the above is a choice for the unborn baby?

Drake Gordon writes:

Barack Obama Got in Because of Catholics.

The whole reason he got into office is because alot of Catholics ( well your not Catholic if you voted for this ONE) voted for him. They voted for him because they are losing there faith in God and being manipulated by Satan. The majority of Spanish Catholics voted for him for reason;s that are moronic. Abortion and Gay Marriage will end this world and you have Spanish Catholics voting for him. As you can see his approval ratings are worse then Bushes at this time he was in office. Bush was not the best but in the last 8 years how was life for you? How did it make you feel when Bush ( who is not even catholic) was trying to bring back the foundation of this country. Bush did a great job and Colon Powell is pretending to be on Baracks side because he didn't run for office first. McCain would of done a lot better.

All I can say Drake is you've got to be a comedian! Or you lived on another planet for Bush's 8 years! I remember: Bush's selection by the Supreme Court overstepping the boundaries the Court has according to the Constitution thus destroying it, 9/11 on bush's watch, $4/gallon gas, Wall Street collapse, $750 billion of taxpayer money to greedy pals on Wall Street, Disastrous Invasion of the Sovereign Nation of Iraq that had no WMD's that also led to the rise of Iran, Abu Graib concentration camp along with other Black Sites used to torture and murder innocent Iraqi's and others including women and children, Katrina disaster and unprepared gov't response ("great job Brownie?,) Lied to Congress and the American people in address to Congress saying things like a "mushroom cloud" coming to the US from Iraq, planting phoney stories in the New York Times about Iraq, Iraq had "yellow cake" and plutonium, etc, etc,. Ring a bell???
