Health care insurance companies don't need to worry about competition from a government health insurance option because it could be designed to insure only those people rejected by the insurance companies. Medicare is designed and functions likewise.

Many teens and women need help and there is help. We want people to get the support they need. We want people to get the love they need. We want people to have someone to talk to and help them when they are pregnant. Please share the truth and whole truth with them.

as abortion is a matter of choice then those who want it should be the ones to pay for it.We who dont want abortion should be free as well as the "choice people" to have our choice to NOT PAY a cent towards it.So if the hat fits then let those who choose it pay for it and not expect the rest of society to foot their bill of after creating life to make us pay to have it destroyed. Notice I acknowledge that it is a life that is being denyed a life and is being destroyed by those who want a life and expect others to be roped into their destructive decisions.
The veitnam vets got treated with disgust what for? They were soldiers under orders but at what cost to the Nation? Abortion has superceeded anything that happened in that war.Its a national suicide under the guise as "health" and also a discrimination against one gender on behalf of another namely men versus women.

We should encourage responsibility. 93% of the time the mother and father made a choice to take a risk that might turn out to be inconvenient or a social reason. They need to be responsible for the life they started. We are not animals and we can make decisions (choice).
It's all about stepping up to the resposibility of the choice that was made 93% of the time.
93% of the time this can not be justified as a medical reason:
- 3200 Uborn American Babies slaughtered a day because of bad choices
- 1.2 Million Uborn American Babies slaughtered a day because of bad choices
- More than 45 Million Unborn American Babies slaughtered in 36 years
We need to do more for the 7%. We need to work hard to protect the mother and the child during this 7%.
The unborn baby does not have a choice if abortion is the choice.

As long as abortion is legal it should be covered, regardless of various factions. It seems to be the litmus test for appointing Supreme Court justices. Eric Scott's comment sound the voice of reason; abortion is, and should remain, a matter of CHOICE.

The last four (out of six total) comments on this article are not useful contributions to the debate. Nobody is forced to have an abortion, it is a choice that a pregnant woman makes. No doubt some make the decision lightly. But it is their decision to make. If a government-provided health care scheme does not make provision for abortion we will be back in the days of back street coat-hangers. The more I see of the health debate the less I like the idea of a government role.

Something about Bobo's comment suggests it came from a dark place with boulders and monkeys. Some hospital patients are veterans, crippled in war. Some are injured fire or police department workers. Some are exhausted from lifetimes of unselfishly taking care of families. Maybe the Welcome Wagon missed Bobo too many times? Maybe it's time to listen to Little Orphan Annie sing "Tomorrow."
