The Episcopal Church's Move to Embrace Gays and Sliding Membership

I quit the episcopal church because of their ordination of gay bishops and priests. In my opinion, a gay bisop/priest is an oxymoron from the biblical standpoint. Also - like to think when I attend a chuch the priest comes from a 'normal' (i.e. non gay familly!) I can't imagine a gay priest or bishop talking about his boyfriend (or partner!!!)

So - I decided to quit the church- plus one I was attending was not friendliest act in town! But - Gay preacher/bishop = Oh well - eventually guess the church will be all gays - rest will have left!

The Roman Catholic Church in the US is not declining but growing. More people join the Catholic Church than leave. Those that have left do end up returning because of the stability and not conforming to society's wants and desires. Following Christ's footsteps is not alway easy but it is rewarding. Remember, not all ministers will go to heaven due to their secular beliefs.

Do you want to take that chance?

Now there's a contradiction of words . . .

What does this article mean "change to remanin relevant . . " Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. We should recognize the God of the Bible, not the God of your current needs and position. It is wrong to judge and I will continue to love all of God's creation, but one involved in the teaching of God's Word should be of good moral character. Same sex relationships are sexually immoral and a sin perpetrated upon one's self. We must all choose for ourselves how we will walk . . . as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Many evangelicals ignore the fact that gays are children of God too, and loved by Jesus. To ignore the scientific research done on orientation is both ignorant and morally reprehensible. Of the 30000 verses in the Bible, only six deal with homosexuality...but not really homosexual relationship orientation. The six verses deal mainly with pedophilia and exploitation, not same gender loving relationships. Funny that homosexuality is such a priority for semi literate evangelicals, since JESUS NEVER MENTIONED IT in the Gospels. He did mention divorce, however, and evangelicals just love to divorce and remarry. What hypocrites! The Episcopal Church is a light in the world, proclaiming the Gospel that Jesus died for all and that indeed, all have sinned and need His grace. Don't blame Jesus for your bigotry, He's way above the crap you try to sell. Best wishes.

terrible shame

The TEC does not believe in the authority, promises, demands, claims of the Christian faith. It uses ceremonies without content to decorate its two emphases: charity and general good will. These emphases can be found anywhere and with more satisfactory results than in an institution both ludicrous and dishonest.

The Episcopal Church abuses and misuses the words "love" and "justice" to market its revisionist brand of Christianity. Its confused biblical hermeneutics and exegeses have allowed itself to be a propaganda machine of gays and lesbian groups. Its lack or low standard of "quality control" of its seminaries and seminarians has led to this Church's disarray. It seems that it does know even its goals and purpose as a Christian Church which include, among others, calling people to repentance. Even though it does not "manufacture" and "market" the same quality and type of "products" as the other Anglican Churches, it is so afraid to be disenfranchised by the Anglican Canterbury headquarter. Termination of the Anglican Canterbury branding or seal of approval will lead to its low marketing effectivity, bankruptcy, and closure. Customers however will know that the Episcopal Church has not kept its high quality standards and they will no longer buy its "products".
