"We've all heard of women who have gotten pregnant while on the pill."

"So, lastly the third mechanism the pill uses to prevent pregnancy is that it does not allow for the proper build up of the uterine wall, preventing implantation of a newly conceived human life, therefore making the pill an abortifacient."

These two statements contradict each other. If the pill prevents "proper build up of the uterine wall" then breakthrough ovulation would never cause pregnancy. If the uterine wall is insufficient, the breakthrough ovulation wouldn't implant, particularly if the ovulation is triggered by missing a pill. It's illogical to argue the uterine lining would suddenly become sufficient because one pill was missed.

You need to pick one of these pieces of propaganda (the pill doesn't work/the pill does work) to spread, because the inherent contradiction between the two, frankly, makes it look like you don't understand biology.

that the same institutions and people who a few years ago were demonizing single mothers and who ardently supported the triumph of welfare deformation are now claiming to be all about supporting pregnant women and single mothers.

That ship sailed long ago. Indeed most of the money which should go to support single mothers not goes into 'faith based boondoggles including Crisis pregnancy centers where 'support' stops and starts with a few dozen diapers and endless 'counseling' which would more honestly be described as 'proselytizing'.

People whose notion of help for poor women is limited to 'counseling' on the empowering aspects of Natural Family Planning should be paying the poor for listening to their drivel.

Ellen Gaffney RN of WI:

Thanks for sharing your experience and wisdom.

I can tell you speak from a great depth of first hand knowledge and experience. I hope and pray that our generation can return America to what was once a respectful society.

I often wonder what Lincoln would say if he came back to see America now. I believe he would be proud about several things but I know that he would be sad about the cracks in the American foundation. I also know that he would have hope and would pray for us. I know that he would also encourage us to do what is right and make a positive difference for human life. I am sure he will tell us to make the hard choices to do what is right when life gets tough.

I hope to hear more from you. Please tell your friends to speak up also. We need to hear more from the wisdom of your generation.

God Bless You And Your Family

I am pro-choice to save human lives but anti-choice when it comes to killing human lives. I am pro-choice to love all mothers and children equally. I am pro-choice to protect the mother and child from death. I am pro-choice to respect life. I am anti-choice when it comes to anything against human life. I am anti-abortion and never pro-abortion.

Abortion is killing a defenseless, weak, and innocent human life (unborn babies).

Try as you might but you can not sugar coat or justify abortion by calling it a choice. Making a choice to kill a human life is wrong.

We should not kill any human life.

We should respect and protect all human life.

All Human Life is important and equally important.

A selfish choice is not more important than a human life.

Abortion is war against Love.

You can not justify killing Human Life:

Killing 3800 unborn babies a day in America is wrong.

Killing 1.3 Million unborn babies a year in America is wrong.

Killing more than 45 Million unborn babies in 36 years in America is wrong.

God Bless You And Your Family!

It seems logical to me that, if our country is going to support single, low-income mothers, and we want to reduce incidences of abortion, we should take the next step and subsidize the procurement of sperm from donors, in the event a potential low-income mother chooses that route to procreation (as opposed to waiting on fate and chance with a man not committed to her). Think about how many men across the U.S. have unwillingly become fathers because their girlfriends or one-night stands chose to allow themselves to become pregnant and keep the child. (Of course all sex should be consequence-free!) What kind of positive environment is that for a child to grow up in – with a father that resents his or her very existence and fights with the mother over child support, custody, etc.? Then said father may go on to willingly have children with another woman or women, with the first child feeling inferior and unwanted. I would bet a far greater majority of women than men want to become parents, and that numerous young women would jump at the chance to become socially accepted independent mothers by choice. Certainly it would lessen their dependence on men as well as their toleration of disrespect and abuse by men on whom they are relying for procreation and financial support. We as Americans, supporting a woman’s right to choose abortion, should support a woman’s deliberate and well-planned choice to embark on this journey alone. At least in situations where the mother chooses a father for her child with whom she does not have a personal or sexual relationship, the child will be unencumbered by the emotional turmoil of being the by-product of a sexual encounter gone wrong. And, for women that want to become mothers, this method allows them complete control over when and how many times to procreate, eliminating the need for abortion because each pregnancy is planned, and catapulting them from victims to victors. Then, they are free to become involved in relationships with men not based upon their potential to become fathers or breadwinners but solely on character and mutual respect.
