All religions aside:

As a recent Galop Poll indicate that 56% of americans consider themselves pro-life.

I believe that the President Mr. obama should not be supporting

pro-choice to keep allowing abortions, when the Common Ground of Americans indicates otherwise.

If the President wants to stand where most Americans are standing, he will need to stand up as Pro-Life. If that means some choices are restricted, or abotions eliminated from our society, so be it.

As the Gallop pole indicates, this is the Common Ground most Americans share, they equate Abortion as killing the unborn.

Like the murder rate it is something that needs to be reduced,

not making it easier to perpetuate.

The logical thing to do is to make laws making abortion more rare, and having options not to commit it, just like laws against certain crimes to reduce their rates, and education to give people alternatives to a life of crime.

Rather tha at present, having the President use the government to fund abotions(overseas), and fund Planned Parrenthood. That is like funding organised crime activities and expecting a the crime rate to decrease at the same time. (non-sense)

I don't see how a pro-choice president can be seen as having a "conciliatory posture" about abortion. There is no "concilatory" stance for destroying babies. Pro-choice means pro-abortion. That means we now have a president who is for eliminating our next generation; he is really for killing America's future. Abortion is not a God-given right any more than murder is. Obama really reminds me of a pharisaical fence-sitter. He pretends to be Christian but is more concerned about keeping his political position than he is about preserving innocent human life. That's the definition of a whited sepulcher -- appearing to be beautiful on the outside, but inside being full of corruption. I don't have anything good to day about Obama's twosidedness on the abortion issue, and neither should the Catholic church.

It sounds like President Obama is open to Common Ground that is for reducing abortion. I could only pray that this is true and that his actions will show the truth.

An unborn child is the least of our people. They are weak, poor, innocent, defenseless, and fragile. They are completely dependent upon our love and mercy. They are the least of our people in American.

At more than 1.3 Million American abortions a year this is an important topic. Deaths from abortion is greater than all other deaths in America (reference Center for Desease Control and Prevention counts). Simply put more Americans die each year from Abortion than from Aids, Heart Disease, Cancer, Accidents, and all other causes of death.

At more than 45 Million American abortions in 36 years since 1973 this topic is an important topic of respect for every human life.

These unborn children are being ignored. When was the last time the the news media, politician, or anyone told you the count for how many babies were aborted today in American. We talk about all the other news (health care, aids, cancer, economy, 911, murders, deaths in Iraq, and etc... You know all the news and stats for these events. This is not to reduce the importannce of that news but we should stop hiding the Truth about abortion.

In America we averages more than 3800 unborn American babies that die to abortion a day.

Did you know, In just one year there are more unborn American babies (more than 1.3 Million) that die than all the Americans that have died in all our wars (less than 1.2 million).

Did you know, In just 35 years that America has killed more unborn babies in American than Hitler killed in all his concentration camps.

All Human Life is equally important.

Please promote respect for every human life.

Please don't promote violence against the unborn defenseless children of America.

Quote: What you do to the least of my people you do to me.

Please protect the least of God's people.

Abortion is war against Life and Love.

Please help encourage Human Life and Love.

May the Love, Peace, Mercy, and Grace of God be with each of you.

May God Have Mercy on America!

The politics of Pro Life based on American talking heads is now firmly lodged in the minds of Americans, as a Catholic Church issue. Unfortuantely too many "sinful" catholics (otherwise confessionals would be a thing of the past!) are loudly making it an issue of faith and faith alone. A policy bound to fail in a religously diverse world.

Practising American catholics need to break away from their lily white island shelter and realise that they are an aging and declining demographic. At best their "faith" will serve them for their lifespan, but the Pro Life issue will fail miserably as their children have not and will not have the same religious zeal when it comes to the key Catholic tenants; married until death do us part, no birth control, no abortion, no adultry, no homosexual marriage. Practising Catholics between 25 and 45 have precipitously declined and indistinguishable from Protestant and secular lifestyles.

The far more worldly Vian is more committed to dealing with the vast numbers and rapidly growing catholic populations in other parts of the world. The average family size there is 5 to 6 and their disenfranchisement from political, economic and class/caste hopelessness motivates them to count on God, not man. These are the people the Catholic Church needs to coddle and pray with. The self righteous over consuming Catholics in America need to do that too and not just the one hour Sunday pitstop in church and pre-occupation with bi polar American politics; right and wrong or black and white! It's the baby boomers that are Pro Life but not too many of their kids that practise their lives with a different trinty; I, me and myself.

The editor of the Holy See's newspaper is out of touch with reality. If he were the editor of the Holy Fathers official newspaper during World War 2. Would he have treated Adolph Hitler in the same manner, giving him the benefit of the doubt?

Its Catholics like Vian that have caused many Catholics to not be concerned with the innoccent life of an unborn child. But thats changing. I pray God intervenes and takes Vian out, as editor of the Holy Fathers Newspaper. If Vian thinks we Catholics believe him, then he's more out of touch with reality than I thought.

Congratulations: aura dawn veirs is perceptive and helpful in her uncovering the association of at least one major religion with the gospel of private property as divinely inspired/promulgated. I wonder if the church will, in future times, withdraw its unequivocal endorsement of private property in the same way it has reversed itself on whether the sun revolves around the Earth or vice-versa?

And isn't it interesting that the trumpeting of private property is so closely aligned with the placement of women at the bottom of the human scale? Maybe this is because women have traditionally been viewed as private property, or close to it, and still are throughout much of the world (including among several religious traditions here in the US).

Suggestion: John Warren appears to be using this blog to post repetitive (I think his postings are word-for-word, but I'm not absolutely certain) screeds, no matter the subject of Gilgoff's post. It would be useful if Warren were a bit more imaginative. I guess we can't rule him off these blogs (I do support freedom of speech); I therefore suggest not reading or responding further to his posts.

Pontifications aside ,the Vatican wants to open more doors on the African continent.

Mayor of Simpleton of MA 6:11AM June 21, 2009

The Catholic Reference Encyclopedia, Vol. 4, Page 1414 --i think it's the l956 edition--do not have it here--defines "Private Property." It says "the Catholic Church vigorously defends against those political systems that seek to replace private property with public property." It quotes a l931 pope who said private property was invented by the Creator Himself." The CIA has gotten us into wars with nations that nationalized natural resources--like Cuba, N. Korea, Mossadegh's Iran, Allende's Chile, Sandinista Nicaragua --Catholic Ollie North there, N. Vietnam. Socialist Baath Hussein's Iraq, etc. Our military has socialized taxpaid medicine for a long time, but churches own stock in insurance companies and some if them want profiteering to be part of healthcare, with commissions to agents and power to refuse taxpaid abortions and maternal healthcare here and abroad. So Romney is palsy with the Vatican. Why? Because women are put last in both faiths, just like Islam. Women's bodies are the source of ongoing life but religion tells lies that make men treat wives, daughters and all women like dirt..
