Mitt Romney: Jihadism Is Not Part of Islam

Muslims employ Jihad to spread Islam. They have been doing it since Mohammed invented Islam after being ostracized by the Jews, Christians, and pagan of his homeland, Arabia. Mohammed, stinging from rejection, employs lies, deception, and brutal violence to trick those people into trusting him.

Arabia, as we know, today has almost no other religious system represented save for Islam. Mohammed and his followers used Jihad to kill everyone who refused to accept his Islamic religion. But the Jihad did not stop there.

Mohammed and his followers then set their sights in Persia. Again, Jihad was used to literally destroy the identity of Persia, killed all those who did not accept the Islamic system, and crush the cultural hertiage thousands of years old. Today we call this land Iran.

But Jihad did stop there. It was then on to the Byzantine Empire. Jihad destroyed yet another culture. The Jihad has never stopped and to this day is carried out by muslims all over the world from the slaughter of schoolchildren in Beslan to the sexual mutilation of vitcims in Mumbai, to the leaping victims of 9/11. All done through Jihad.

Mitt is a fool

You misquoted Romney. He did not say there was no connection between Jihadist and Islam. He said Jihadism is not Islam, which is to say that Jihadism is not the same thing as Islam. He further clarified this later, and you didn't bother to notice or mention it, when he said: "the great majority of people in Islam want peace for themselves and peace with their maker. They want to raise families and have a bright future."

Now, if you think about it, he said the great majority want peace for themselves and peace with their maker, which leave a small minority that don't want that, doesn't it? In other words, he was perfectly correct in what he said both in the speech and in your interview.

Islam: the muslim faith; 20% of the world's muslims are arabic peoples

Jihad: a holy war or crusade on behalf of muslims against infidels

All of Islam is not Jihadism, but all of jihadism is within Islam, nearly exclusively arabic. For example, Indonesia isn't arabic and it's the world's largest muslim nation.

What Mitt Romney is doing is simply being precise with the language of who is an islamic terrorist versus who is simply muslim. In other words, who is muslim and who is jihadist. The productive effort we need to be getting behind is wedging jihadism apart from and out of islam.

Jihad is clearly a part of Islam.

Is there nothing more for you to report on than making up this garbage? For you to act like you don't understand what Romney was talking about reveals either your intelligence is one sandwich short of a picnic, or you're biased and trying to smear and besmirch Mitt Romney. Isn't there enough of this going on already? I feel as if you have wasted 2 minutes of my life reading this junk and I want it back.

I have always liked him. I believe he has good morals and loves this country, I agree he is also SMART enough to get things fixed.

Mitt Romney is the most intelligent, well spoken leader in the Republican Party - a fact he proves over and over again. A couple of the comments made on this blog certainly reveal the ignorance in America. Martin from MI - Mitt Romney won several primaries...check your facts. I am also fairly certain that he won more delegates than Huckabee even though he left the race early. (I have read conflicting opinions).

Even worse, the bigoted ignorance displayed by bob in OR shows why this country is stuck on a runaway train. Bob says that Mitt Romney is delusional because he's Mormon. He says Mormons aren't Christian. This shows his willingness to believe what he has been told by others without any research himself. Mormons are Christian, they follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Just for fun - let's say they aren't. Take a look at the way Mitt Romney lives his life - does he not live by typical Christian standards? He does and this cannot be refuted. Still, those evangelical leaders try to portray Mormons as Satanists because they worry that Mormons will take their congregation and therefore their salaries if those people were to think for themselves. This is merely my opinion but as far as I can tell is the only feasible explanation as to the distortions they make regarding the LDS. While they do that they hurt their country and break one of the Ten Commandments..."thou shalt not bear false witness." I am LDS (Mormon) and I am always having to explain our doctrine to people...and once I do - they are satisified that I am indeed Christian.

I'm sorry for injecting the religious aspect into this blog but it is frustrating to see a good man mocked for living his life as a Christian. All religions have various rituals - all different from one another. Our constitution gives us this right. It also states that religion is not a basis to exclude someone from the Presidency.

That is all Romney was saying. Is that too hard for you to understand? He never said they aren't related. Get a life.
