Notre Dame Critics Tally $8.2 Million in Denied University Donations Over Obama

There is no leader or politician living or dead, no matter how respected, who could address all issues to the satisfaction of all people. President Obama has shown himself to be a moral leader, concerned with the welfare of Americans no matter what their affiliations or beliefs. We who love Notre Dame and love America must maintain the ideals of freedom and tolerance that the school and country were founded on. Those who would like to put a gag in his mouth might be more comfortable affiliating themselves with another religious institution, like maybe the Taliban.

Bob Evens.... What people usually mean by common sense and modern thought is materialism and moral relativism. While these will get you through your life fairly well, some of us look to something more. We hold truth as more valuable than tolerance and political-correctness. It is not backwards, just old fashioned. When people or institutions claim to represent Catholicism and then dilute it and conform it to secular ideals the faithful can not "chill". Defending the unborn. Having traditional families. Witnessing our faith. Confessing our sins. These things take backbone in our culture.

Murdering unborn babies is wrong- Obama encourages this murdering- Father Jenkins should not have invited him (Obama) to speak at the graduation- nor should he be given an honorary degree. All the comments about growing up and letting free speech abound- and stop the catholic rhetoric and yada yada yada is just like listening to people who have mushy brains kind of running this way and that- like driving a car with butter on your windshield wipers- you just can't really see very clearly- come on murdering unborn babies is murder- so wipe your eyes and see the light! Ciao

Inviting Obama speaks volumns about ND and the Catholic church. Obama is a very strong believer is killing unborn babies and maybe even some who survive the abortion attempt. You couple that with the outrageous protection by important members of the church of pedophil priests and you come to a strong conclusion that Notre Dame and the Catholic church's teachings and doctrines are not to be taken seriously.

You nutjobs need to relax.... this is the 21st Century.... why don't you children grow up and use your brain for something other than religious rhetoric. It's a shame that as the "leader of the free world" our country's citizens are unable to overcome their collective backwards views and show a little backbone by leading the rest of the world into the new century with common sense and modern thought. Grow up, get a life, and get on with it.

Just to set the record straight.....

There was a decline in abortion during the beginning of the Clinton presidency due to the previous administrations policies. This was followed by an increase during his second term. There is no federal data on the matter after 2000 and claims that abortions rates increased under Bush are based on data from only 16 states.

It doesn't matter what delusions you entertain to justify your vote for him. He is pro-abortion.

-Voted against the born-alive act ate state senator

-Promised planed parenthood he would sign FOCA

-Repealed Mexico city policy and is funding foreign abortions

-Working to remove conscience rights of health-care workers

-Quoted as saying he would not want his daughter "punished with a child" if she got pregnant.

If you are really Catholic you will submit to the authority of church teaching. Otherwise you submit to the secular world and its false hope and scandalize the Church when you identify yourself as a Catholic; which is exactly the trap Fr. Jenkins has fallen into.

My daughter is a senior at Notre Dame and I am embarrassed by the opposition to President Obama's speech and honorary degree. I consider him the most pro-life president of my life time. His domestic and foreign policy agenda and his outreach to all reasonable people in the world is more than inspiring. I suggest that my fellow Catholics remember that fewer abortions were performed during the Clinton years than during the Bush years. Also, please remember that President Obama is not pro abortion. He is against the government telling a woman what she must do with her own body and future. I would think the my anti-government friends would be against this as well. And why is it that Republicans would be the first to scream if their taxes were raised to support unwanted babies. Catholics are suppose to respect life. Show some respect for your President who is currently trying to save the world from disaster in so many areas.

What about more children to continue the human race? San Francisco is not doing its bit.
