The Politics Behind Obama's Embryonic Stem Cell Research Decision

Embryonic stem cell research is an ethical issue not a political one, as President Obama wants to present it. Every embryo has a unique DNA that no other human being has, had or will ever have. Our DNA is our human identity. The human DNA appears in the embryo from the moment the sperm fertilizes the egg. Killing an embryo to obtain body parts for other human beings, is totally unethical and barbaric in a civilized society. Big Universities and biochemichal companies who supported Obama will benefit of this research as they will hold the patents that will be extremely profitable

How can you possibly agree with Obama's decision when you, rightly, understand how esc's can be used?

You are uninformed about abortion. Abortion is the deliberate destruction of human life at any stage between fertilization and natural birth. It doesn't matter how the fertilization takes place.

Only the "undesirables". Aryans may be allowed to survive.

I fully agree with Obama's decision... But, something bothers me... It is the racist, eugenist, discriminated use of the scientific research... As a recent exemple, the ones made by a new doctor Mengele, 'Tne Butcher of Auschwitz', the californian doctor and director of the 'Fertilization Institution' in Los Angeles, Dr Jeff Steinberg, who promise to be able to determine the color of the eyes and the hairs, blue for the eyes, blonde for the hairs. African, Asian,Aboriginals are not beautiful with black pearls of their eyes and hairs ? Dr Mengele's dreams were the same. What bothers me, is the name of the director of the 'Fertilization Institution... I think, and this what hurts me, that he as a 'jewish' name that he should be proud of ! Pierre Gauvin-Évrard, for the memory of the 'Shoah'.

There is absolute no conection between abortion and stem cell research. Anyone saying that is either ignorant about the procedure or deliberately trying to mislead less informed people. The fact is, by the time an abortion happens, earlier that that, by the time the woman even realizes she is pregnant, the cells are too differentiated to be used.

The embryos used are fertility clinics excess that would be destroyed anyway. Not one single embryo was saved during the limit on the research, not one! There is currently an excess of 400.000 embryos frozen today and every year 50.000 women turn to IVF in the hopes of achieving pregnancy. It would require 67.000 women to undergo the same procedure OCTOMOM had. And every year we would need more volunteers. Ask California tax payers how they feel about that. If we are so concerned about saving lives how about reforming the foster care system. We already have enough children in need of homes in the country, let’s save those first.

stem cell research is rather a crusade to exerminate the human race from the face of the earth and i think this world needs Gods mercies. how can some one argue that embroys are less important and therefore can easily removed and used for research with ease? we derive our lives from that embryo and we are who we are because one human being supported that embryo for 9 months, i shrink when i hear a full president of the united states legalising the extraction, exermination of these innocent babies, would he be the president if his mother had made such a decision for puposes of research? i do now believe what is written in the bible, "we think we are rich, intelligent, we dont need anything, yet we are blind, deaf, very poor, naked and we should be pitied". why cant we remember why God destroyed sodom and gomorah. mr president as u authorise killing of innocent babies in the name of research just remember that their precious blood will be on your head, and their cries as they are being sucked out of their mothers wombs will reach up to God and america will face God wrath.

What is never mentioned in the media regarding ESC research is that it has been going on continuously since 2001. It just hasn't been supported by federal funding, except for the cell lines that were in existence at that time. My own state of Connecticut has funded the research and California has to an even greater extent. The impression is always given that stem cell research came to a halt in 2001. The fact is, there have been tremendous advances made in stem cell research. Presently, there are over 70 medical conditions being treated effectively by stem cells. ADULT STEM CELLS! In spite of ongoing ESC research, it never reported in the media because there are no results to report. And in spite of the great progress being made with adult stem cells, that is not reported either.

Don't believe me? Do your own web search and post your results here. You will find that adult stem cells have all the pluripotency that embryonic stem cells have and:

a) Produce positive, effective treatments,

b) Are not rejected by the body,

c) Do not develop tumors,

d) Do not cause infections.

So why is ESC being pushed?

Follow the money.
