How could anyone be taken seriously who says evangelicals vote Republican out of gratitude for 8 years of death, greed and deceit? They may have liked John McCain or disliked Obama but grateful??? I dont think so. The Republicans controlled the Presidency, the Congress, the Supreme Court for the better part of the last two decades--how do you get blaming a persistent who has been in office less than three months? Bush gave us a failed war resulting in thousands of American lives lost, tens of thousands of Iraqis; a failed domestic policy resulting in the death of the American dream for thousands of people who lost jobs, and millions who lost homes, an infant mortality rate in our cities that's higher than Cuba's (a much poor country); This is the real abomination The Republican Party needs the abortion issue as an organizing hook. Most care nothing about working to reduce abortions. We all need to get back to supporting a CONSISTENT ETHIC OF LIFE in this country.

In the 1850s United States there was an argument that this country should be "pro-choice" on slavery: Let those states which want slavery to be legal have it that way, and let those plantation owners who want to own slaves, own them. (If you think slavery is immoral, don't own any slaves.) The anti-slavery movement was made up of many sorts of Americans, but the leaders and the most dedicated members were often of the Society of Friends (Quaker) religious groups.

So. I suppose it might be said that, ultimately, the Quakers succeeded in imposing their values on white Southerners.

Slavery was about depriving an entire class of human person of their human rights, based on skin color. Abortion is about depriving an entire class of human person of their right to life, based on their age, appearance, and place of residence. Fundamental human rights such as these are not defined by any one religion; rather, powerful political advocacy groups have succeeded in justifying the abuse of these rights to the American people ("States' Rights" or "Women's rights") while certain religious groups aren't afraid to see these human rights abuses for what they are and raise objections to them.

The old battlelines don't apply anymore. The GOP seems hell bent on fighting the old battles of God, Gays and Guns. Obama bucked the Democratic establishment, something that youth admire...the youth are always rebelling and take great pleasure in it. They also take great pleasure in knowing that they were likely responsible for Obama's election. And Obama knows how to speak to them.

The GOP is the establishment in their eyes. The GOP needs to start talking in language that youth can understand. Most of these voters don't remember Reagan, or know what Marxism is. You say socialism, and they think of Facebook and MySpace.

The worst mistake the GOP are making is that they are allowing the Democratic party to define Rush as a leader. And the GOP cowers like scared little puppies when Rush demands an apology for every perceived offense. The message of the GOP isn't bad--smaller government, social conservatism, fiscal responsibilty--the problem is they have intolerant figureheads shouting at the masses.

The only smaller government the GOP is achieving right now is government whose members have an R after their names.

The GOP can purify the party, but the numbers will never add up. They will be reduced to a cult and to amusing SNL skits.

What did the RepubliCAN'ts Do to get rid of this ObamaNation known as, I'll call it what it is, a PHONY CIVIL RIGHT with a nice clinical name that lets people Murder their Children.

The Republicans gave us this Obama' Nation that we live in Now.

52 million murdered since Roe v. Wade. A baby murdered every 24 seconds in America. Now a President that refused to pass the baby Born alive bill when he was a State Senator. Obama thinks it's ok for babies born alive from botched abortions to be left in a filthy linen closet to die. There's your President Mr. and Mrs. America.

So when you look at your 401K's, or your laid off, or Boo Hoo, because of the economy you can't remodel your bathroom. This Country is reaping what it has sewn. From a Nation under God to a Nation Under Greed, Murder, Violence, and entitlement.

America Truly is an OBAMA'NATION.

Note how Hudson turns your question about Catholics United and Catholics in Alliance to an answer about himself. This is the fundamental narcism of Mr. Hudson. I am a conservative Catholic who is disgusted that Hudson is still holding himself out as a moral leader.

What he should have said is that Catholics United and Catholics in Alliance are non-groups, letterhead groups that have no members and represent no one but themselves. But this answer would also describe Mr. Hudson and his new fundraising and attention getting engine Catholic Advocate.

Republican leaders have been silent because the do not want a finger pointed back at them. They might be asked "what have you done to make abortion illegal?" What did Reagan and Bush do after big promises and a Republican Congress?

Hypocrites

Someone from the sebelius camp should call out Mr. Kmeic....he LOVES supporting abortion politicians, then says they're more catholic than most Catholics....
