Brownback thinks he's got it all figured out. Under no circumstances should he have endorsed Sebellius, because in doing so,he endorses her radical anti-life tactics and those of Tiller and others like him. Brownback should have been the most vocal anti-Sebelius voice to be heard because he knows what she has done in his home state. Now, if elected, she can be thrust upon the whole nation along with her cronies, like Tiller, and along with her promotion of anti-life policies. Shame on Brownback. This is politics pure and simple...well, maybe not 'pure'...it's not too late for him to let his voice be heard. If he does not, then please do not vote him in as Governor. He should not be rewarded for playing Russian roulette with the lives of millions of babies in the wombs of their mothers...speak truth, Sam...speak for life before it's too late!!!! One of the first things Pope Benedict said when he was elected was that we tend to rationalize everything...do what is right and good and not what you think is a good political move...stand for life, not for your own political career....

If it is Obama's pick anyway (one of his rationales) how does supporting Sebelius help get her out of Kansas? I don't think Obama is too worried about offending pro-life folks at this point. Brownback's endorsement does hurt the cause on the otherhand.

We don't need to move Sebelius from Kansas to our Nation's Capital. Her pro-abortion record would not only hurt Kansas more, but also the other 49 states in the union. If we are to uphold the dignity of the unborn and innocent, we need a principled leader who will stand for such issues. Political maneuvering is not the way to go.

Doesn't make much difference. Kansas is a red state, and I don't see it changeing. But, if the republicans keep tearing each other up, and keep relying on Rush as a leader-----That might change. Kansas people are down to earth people. A lot of common sense farmers their. Not likely they would have much to do with Rush at all. Now they have Steele heading the GOP an him trying to sound hip,hop-------that puts the party even harder to swallow. Than you have jindal pushed out there and wasn't ready for the national stage either, and he absolutely turned of Republicans all together. My family jumped the republican sinking ship way back when Mccain used Palin, simply because she was femal. Kind of like they used steele for his blackness, and Jindal because he has a immigration story like Obama's. This is how sad the republilcan party has gotten for us. Every day they make a fool of themself, against the budget and claim it's because of pork. But they have billions of pork in it like Utah's Politician who want millions for cricket research. Then this budget was done under Bush watch last yr, and their so dishones they try to make it Obama's Budget. It was them who hashed it out with the Dem's last yr, and helped put in the pork! But now they have to find whatever they can to call Obama out on/ Dem's! It's a free fall in washington and it's not Obama or the Dem's created it. They simply don't understand that this is what the American people are looking at! Even us republicans who voted Dem last election. They won'lt get us back if this is the direction they keep going in. The African/American are not going to follow that idiot steele! Jindal has let the GOP push him out there to soon and not ready, and he looks uneducated and poorly suited. Than of all the stupid things do you think the hard core, religouse republicans are going to listen to Newt again after cheating on his wife, Rush who's a druged out radio show host, and ann Colter who just plain makes little sense to the normal republican. There only hope is to work with this president, brag about how pardisen they are for the better of America, and been seen as wanting america to succeed and not Fail---as so many of them has come out and said! It's time for a new stradegy and a new direction if they want to keep the republicans seated in 2010 an have any hopes in 2012 or 16! For goodness sake stop being the NO party, and be seen as work Bi-pardison and soon. Believe me at this speed if Obama fails, it will look like the republicans caused his failure and not himself or the Demacratic party! Don't believe me? Get down in these red state farm community's an the americans who's loseing their jobs, homes an fear the economy, and ask them who was to blame and who is hurting the recovery more than helping it. my family was over 300 republicans strong, It is now over 300 Demacrate strong, untill the party finds a new direction and start hellping us all. Not a grand old party now-Tired,Old,worn out, badideas

Now I've really heard everything. Sam is running for Gov in a state that elected Kathleen Sebelius twice. He wants her voters and is trying to move to the center. Its political pure and simple but he has misjudged and angered his base. Not smart. He needed to mend rifts (amnesty, pushing McCain, missing so many votes to run for President) and instead he makes it even harder to support him.

Kathleen will do more damage as Sec than any democratic senator could do. Watch for FOCA buried in health reform, goodbye common sense restraint--hello nationalized Geo Tiller. KS problem has now become not just America's problem, but the worlds.

Its just stupid to attack Brownback. McCluskey and others have the comfort of being able to sacrifice rationale to make themselves feel better, in the name of "serving the cause".

Everyone, get over yourselves. Brownback took an intelligent and ration based position on saving lives of the unborn. Lives are saved by Sebelius going to Washington, period. There is no arguing that point. Conservatives need to think more like Brownback and stop have these emotion based tirades! We will continue to lose so long as we cast out the leaders of the movement.

Obviously we can't predict an election two years out, but I would venture that McCluskey has no inside knowledge of that senate race (which Sam ostensibly does).

His other comment is so utterly and breathtakingly stupid, I don't even want to respond (but I will). Politics makes policy. Does anyone want to win a skirmish to lose the war? Because that's what Tom is suggesting. If she stayed in Kansas, like Tom is suggesting, she would become Senator Sebelius. For Brownback to shrink from this, and try to keep her in Kansas, would be the easier alternative (which we've seen from all the nasty comments we've seen). So, Brownback is actually sacrificing politics for policy.

I support Brownback. I'm glad he congratulated her. I hope he helps her move to Washington.

Christopher of KS 2:10PM March 06, 2009

old Sam is really so two-faced.

Maybe Kansas CAN find a more honest Democrat to put in that Senate seat.
