Ted Haggard is a disgusting mess. I have no problems with Gays...But people like him have caused the majority of the social issues on this planet. Now...he must have money he's trying to hide.

He should make up his mind...and try another business.

Its amazing how some Christians were only willing to offer help and assistance and prayers for Ted Haggard. But none of that mercy extended to Mike Jones or the young man and I suspect mamy others.

I'm a Christian and I felt deeplt grieved when I heard Mike speak on how he'd been treated after these new revelations about Ted and another young man.

I sincerely pray for Ted But Jesus loves Mike too.

I pray for the young man who Ted abused hids power wih.

It saddens me the ones who Ted was supposed to be helping he abused.

"that He has an ideal in our lives that we as human beings just aren't going to achieve."

Maybe Mr. Haggard should brush up on his theology.

Rom 8, 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

And He provided also the means of grace and the Spirit of Christ that delivers us from the body of sin, the body of death.

Eph 4, 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

They are way to quickly claiming with their mouths to be "born again". His error was not to admit his sinfull nature from the start, to try to hide and lie about it, for the sake of being accepted by others. That is not the true priority in the Christian life.

It is not that God did not provide enough grace, but us not accepting it.

This incident shows that we are all humans. In Christ we work towards perfection but God is just and He will forgive if we genuinely seek it. I pray that this brotyher will be restored in the Lord.

I think that folks who feel called to leadership had better tread carefully. Satan loves nothing more than to exploit there every weakness. It becomes even harder when they try to hide their flaws and struggles and are not committed to several key authentic relationships that provide accountability.

The worst part is, when they fall, they hurt the church and further convince a cynical world that "all pastors are hypocrites, etc."

I applaud folks like Billy Graham who made sure that he never allowed himself to be in a position that could even be interpreted as "compromising" financiall and personally. He knew human nature and temptation well enough to flee from even the possibility of impropriety. That is a man of God who is using his God given wisdom appropriately. And the greater he became in a worldly sense, the more important it became for him to be all the more cautious and all the more transparent.

It breaks my heart each time one falls. Even though I believe in forgiveness and repentance and restoration, I think that a person in his position should voluntarily step down from a position of authority and move into another less visible form of service in the church with less temptation and less responsibility. I would not be able to trust this person for spiritual guidance or even for basic good judgement. I forgive them, but I would not look to them for leadership as they have been tested and have not passed the test.

While I think he does want to get back to his lucrative preaching job, I like the statement he made,"We are not the fellowship of the self-righteous." We certainly have enough of those. Then he talked of the love each disciple had for one another instead of berating each other. it's called tolerance and it is something most fundamental churches have forgotten. You know, go to my church or you are going to hell. I believe all preachers have ulterior motives and they will use hatred and fear to get it.
