The Paul Weyrich I Knew

Buh-bye Paul. Can't say as I'll miss ya.

Paul Weyrich was a very close friend of mine and I mourn his loss. Mr. Weyrich was a man of principles, not politics. Yes, he was generous, never cynical, and unlike some on the right who fall in lock-step, he had a mind of his own.

I formerly attended his church for several years where I came to know him, and he was the type of man who would have given the shirt off his back to help his friends. I spent a year out of work in 2004, and Paul was always there to give me the support of his good name and to be an ear for me. He was like a father to me and I mourn his loss.

Paul did NOT have a cynical bone in his body. In fact, he absolutely detested such people. I learned a lot from having him in my life, and he is sorely missed.
