Four servicemen were inside the theater during the shooting that left 12 people dead.

The Pentagon said several military members were known to be inside the theater at the time of the massacre. One Navy sailor and two Air Force members were injured in the shooting. Another Navy sailor who was known to be in the theater remained unaccounted for as of Friday afternoon.

The statement did not identify any of those service members.
