Obama's Latest Campaign Ad Hits Romney's Swiss Bank Account

Barack Obama's latest campaign ad is short, but it wastes no time digging into Mitt Romney.

The ad explains that Obama has worked to create American jobs, specifically in the energy sector.

"President Obama's clean energy initiatives have helped create jobs for projects across America, not overseas," the narrator explains. The ad goes on to contend that as a CEO, Mitt Romney outsourced jobs to places like Mexico and China, and as Massachusetts governor, he sent state jobs to a call center in India.

"It's just what you'd expect from a guy who had a Swiss bank account," the narrator concludes.

Romney's Swiss bank account has been a nagging problem for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, as some have accused him of holding money in the notoriously secretive financial haven to avoid paying taxes on it in the United States.

Romney's campaign has said that there was nothing nefarious about the Swiss account, but critics have taken issue with that assessment.

In January, Michigian Sen. Carl Levin, chair of the Senate Homeland Security Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, explained that the committee had done extensive research into Americans who hold accounts in Switzerland.

"There is no such thing as an ordinary Swiss bank account," Levin said.

The ad, which will air in the swing states Virginia, Ohio, and Iowa, was done in part as a response to a recent ad campaign from Americans for Prosperity, a super PAC supporting Mitt Romney that recently made a $6.1 million ad buy in order to attack the Obama administration for wasting money and outsourcing jobs for renewable energy projects.

Another Democratic red herring. Who cares about Romney's bank account? What are his policies? Far as I can tell, it's the same-o same-o the Pubs have been dishing for 50 years. Smaller government, less taxes. Yawn. Just wish Romney would tell us what he really wants to do. If he wants to abolish HUD, I might go along with that, but run on it, don't talk about it behind close doors. You want to privatize Social Security, run on it. You want to eliminate Medicare as we know it, run on it. You want to cut spending, tell us what you want to cut. Don't be cowardly, be bold....and lose.

Both sides need to bring jobs back to America One Veteran at a time.

This week we honor a company named Workspace Communications for creating the Workspace Warrior Initiative. Vets2Work is asking companies who outsource jobs offshore to bring a small percentage back and employ military veterans and their families. These are the higher paying jobs like tech support, product support and customer retention. These positions are staffed virtually from the veteran’s home in order to employ remote and disabled veterans including caretaker family members. With all the Federal and state(s) tax credits available including training, the cost per hour is just slightly above what companies are paying offshore.

Vets2Work is asking all veterans to identify local businesses that outsource offshore and ask them to bring back a small percentage and hire military veterans. We feel that this small contribution will grow after these companies see the benefits of US veterans over offshore employees.

What's the problem? All of Mitt's friends, the NASCAR owners, sports team owners, and private equity investment millionaires have Swiss bank accounts (or Cayman Island bank accounts or Dubai bank accounts).
