The buy matches a $25 million TV purchase by President Obama's re-election organization, signaling that neither side is willing to surrender any territory as the campaign swings into high gear.

American Crossroads is likely the political action committee most feared by the Obama campaign and the Democrats. It was co-founded by Karl Rove, who was the chief strategist for President George W. Bush, and has proven to be extremely successful at fund-raising. The group has been a key player so far, running hard-hitting anti-Obama ads on a regular basis.
Its latest effort includes an $8 million ad buy over the next month in at least 10 swing states including Colorado, Iowa, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia.
The ad argues that Obama has broken major promises, including pledges to cut the deficit and dramatically lower the unemployment rate. The tag line is, "We need solutions, not just promises."
