Path Begins to Clear for Romney Nomination
Tweet Share on Facebook March 23, 2012 Comment (4)Mitt Romney is expected to lose the Louisiana primary Saturday but pick up steam again in the next contests for the Republican presidential nomination.
His biggest test will probably be Wisconsin on April 3. Polls show that Romney holds a narrow lead, but former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum has the potential to win that primary and break Romney's string of victories in diverse Midwestern states such as Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. And that could delay Romney's progress toward the nomination and create more doubts that he can rally his own party behind him.

Republicans Blast Obama on Energy
Tweet Share on Facebook March 22, 2012 Comment (2)President Obama's two-day trip to highlight his energy policies has lit a fire under the Republicans, who say he is distorting his record and trying to duck responsibility for high gasoline prices.

Mitt Romney Fills Illinois Airwaves With Negative Ads
Tweet Share on Facebook March 20, 2012 Comment (2)If Mitt Romney wins the Illinois Republican presidential primary as expected Tuesday, he can attribute his victory to a massive barrage of television advertising that overwhelmed his opponents.
Romney and his allied political action committee have outspent his closest rival, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, by 7-to-1 in Illinois, according to a survey by Politico. Just as important, they outspent Santorum by 21-to1 in the crucial Chicago media market. The overwhelming majority of that money went to TV ads, largely negative commercials against Santorum.
