Conservatives need to quit using things that hurt the causes they care about. Stand your ground is one example.

concerned with truth of FL:

If you are concerned with the truth, you would wait until the evidence is gathered and forensic methods are applied. By stating right up front, "...he pummeled & gashed the man who shot him!!", you are making a judgement that you would never be able to prove without specific evidence to that occurrence.

Are you aware that all kinds of tapes are on television, as I write this comment to you, that show Zimmerman arriving at the police station?

Do you really expect that Sharpton and even Obama would have even heard, much less commented on it if the shooter and victim were BOTH white, black, or the exact opposite colors than they currently are? You want to know why racism still pervades in this country? It's because without it the "blacks", "browns", "reds", "yellows", or whatever wouldn't have any way to find common ground to organize, come together, and then bring power to bear on governments or institutions of power to get what they want. Racism is perpetuated by the very people who claim they are the victims of racism themselves. I'm sick of it and all the "special interest" groups who think they are any more entitled than I am to "special rights and considerations" because of their race, age, gender, or sexual orientation. It's all utter garbage and these are tools used by people who want something for nothing at the cost of another's hard work. Martin Luther King would have kicked Sharpton and Obama in the junk for their comments.

What you don't know is that the man who fired the gun was on neighborhood watch; and when you do neighborhood watch you:

1. Are unauthorized to have a gun

2. Are to report problems to the police not act on them.

And another thing is when you are being chased for no reason you have a right to defend yourself. That is what Martin did and he got killed for self-defense actions. The man who fired the gun should be arrested.

What they are not telling you is the picture shown is not recent. This so called child was 6 foot 3 inches. Looked much older than the picture. Also that he pummeled & gashed the man who shot him!!

This is a local matter. A man was jumped and got shot for his effort. His intimidation did not work so he went physical and paid the price. It was with-in existing law at the time. Everyone is trying to convict a guy according to their feelings and their feeling have no bearing. That's why Obama, Sharpton and all the others need to let the system work. We all know that there will be riots no matter how this turns out. For that I do blame all the black leader's for fanning the flames of racial discord.

^^ No Mueller. Because the guy who fired the gun more than likely wouldn't have in the first place and if he did he would have been arrested soon after firing the gun, regardless of whether he killed him or not.

I myself get annoyed by some of the things African Americans consider racist. I think that with the effort of MOST non-delusional white people putting all race issues and differences aside (if any) it is unfair for AF AM to take some things racist.

BUT THIS IS A DISGUSTING CASE. Every part of it is about SKIN COLOR. And they can't even say this was fair.

He who fires a gun and kills someone should ALWAYS be put in jail even before he or she is found innocent or guilty.

Just further proof of the failure of the GOP (in general). Utterly mindless statements from the two hopefuls least likely to be nominated. I guess a little extra attention was key and they're willing to stoop to this level.

If President Obama said nothing, those two crybabies would be the first to complain about him being "silent". Now that he's spoken, they can't simply be a man and accept it. No...they have to be little boys and act childish. It don't matter -- Obama will win in November and those two will resume their pointless lives and be forgotten.

bcs2k of CA 12:03PM March 26, 2012

The reality is if Trayvon Martin were white there would be no need for this outcry because the person would have been arrested that night as he should have been in this case!

Angela of MS 11:38AM March 26, 2012

This was all ready a race issue because it involved a black teenager and a white man. Over the last month every black activist has championed this cause on exactly this issue. The fact that Obama linked himself to this issue as if the victim his son just enforces it. The the issue had been portrayed along the lines of a volunteer "guard" using excessive force it would have been a different matter. Personally I think there are racial tones on the shooters part of this issue and that concerns me, but my bigger concern is the use of excessive force by a would be vigilante is more troublesome. How much training does this man have? Why is his primary weapon a gun instead of a taser, or other non-lethal weapon? Yes, he needs to have a gun; but it shouldn't come into play until weapons are shown by the suspect. Did he have to be so confrontational from the start? Did he ask for ID? These are my questions about the case, not race.
