GOP: White House Distancing Itself From Obama's Healthcare Law

March 21, 2012 RSS Feed Print

Republicans are ridiculing President Barack Obama for not officially marking the two-year anniversary of passage of his landmark healthcare law.

Opposition to the law was a rallying cry for the GOP and conservative Tea Party activists for many months after the measure was enacted in 2010, but the controversy had faded recently. Now the issue is back as the Republicans use the occasion of the two-year anniversary this week to underscore their opposition. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments in a challenge to the law starting next week.

The Republican National Committee mocked Obama in an E-mail that argued that his healthcare law has become so unpopular that the president is reluctant to talk about it. "We're not surprised," said an RNC spokeswoman, noting a Washington Post-ABC News poll showing that two-thirds of Americans want to repeal all or part of the law.

Added RNC Chairman Reince Priebus: "If the president is so proud of his signature policy initiative, he should own it and continue campaigning on it. Instead, the White House is attempting to distance themselves from the president's namesake because it's clear Americans believe ObamaCare is making health care worse instead of better."

Obama is scheduled to leave Washington Wednesday to talk about energy issues in Nevada, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Barack Obama ran on three promises last time ~ big government, peace, and freedom.

Peace, what peace?

Freedom, what freedom?

Big federal government he Did and Is doing.. but finds it unpopular so does it quiet.

Barack Obama, works toward big socialistic federal government [rule from afar].. but no peace, no freedom. Talked peace, betrayed peace. Talked civil liberties, took away civil liberties.

No one but Paul 2012. [the candidate that Barack Obama will not be pleased to run against].

Should we Care if Barack Obama is stealing our heritage? Some people care now, some people have always cared about our inalienable right of 'self ownership'.

This "truth" In this article is NOT THE TRUTH. He is running on this and is showcasing those who have been helped by this. For instance, the ill child who now has nolcap on her care which she normally would have used up by her first birthday with her serious illness. Or all of the 20 somethings who now are covered by their parents insurance.

Go to Obama's web site and you won't see any of that being "run away" from.
