Exactly what's needed. I'd do the exact same thing.
Would also like to see him talk about not spending more than we take in. Congress has authorized about $4 Trillion a year in taxes and the government is only bringing in about $2 Trillion in revenue. As President, you're not obliged to borrow and print the difference. You can instruct your Treasury Secretary to not increase the debt. You can choose what to fund and what not to fund.

As a lifelong member of the GOP, I can tell you I don't care what Newt Gingrich says. He is a fraud, a prover liar, and you cannot believe a word this buffoon says.
The media is downplaying all the garbage in Gingrich's past because they know that he would be defeated easily by Barack Obama, our failed unqualified current president.
But Gingrich and Obama agree on one thing: they both want to amnesty millions of illegal aliens. Gingrich wants their cheap labor, and Obama wants their votes. But this would destroy the American working class, who Obama has abandoned.

Gingrich is owned by the Jews just like every candidate has been for decades. And the fact that he wants to repeal Sarbanes Oxley (which holds corporate executive legally responsible for financial statements) tells you that Wall Street owns him too. Either way you look, you see Jews running American into the ground. It's time to take action.
