Romney's Jobs Speech Targets Obama, Not GOP Foe Perry
Tweet Share on Facebook September 6, 2011 Comment (2)A business plan, from a business man. That's how former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney framed his new jobs proposal during a speech at McCandless International Trucks in Las Vegas, Nev., on Tuesday. By portraying himself as a leader cultivated in the private sector, he set himself apart from his top two foes in the race for the presidency, namely President Obama and current front-runner for the GOP nomination and longtime Texas Gov. Perry 2012 Super PAC to Outspend Own Campaign
Tweet Share on Facebook September 6, 2011 CommentWith a healthy lead in the polls and momentum swinging his way, Texas Gov. Rick Perry's campaign is sure to rake in big bucks. But, according to NBC News, a shadow campaign is expected to spend even more. According to the story, "Make Us Great Again," a political action committee helmed by Perry's former chief of staff, plans to spend as much as $55 million in the upcoming GOP primary, an amount that could exceed spending from Perry's official campaign. Bachmann Changes GOP Staff, Not Strategy
Tweet Share on Facebook September 6, 2011 CommentAfter a busy and bumpy weekend, Michele Bachmann's campaign is looking the worse for wear. The congresswoman spent the weekend campaigning in South Carolina, doing a Sunday-morning segment on CBS's Face the Nation, and on Monday night participating in Republican Sen. Jim DeMint's Republican presidential candidate forum. But the campaign arguably grabbed the most attention on Monday night, when it announced that Ed Rollins would step down as campaign manager to the role of senior adviser. Politico reported that Deputy Campaign Manager David Polyansky would be leaving as well. The chairman of Bachmann's Iowa campaign says that he foresees no major strategy changes, but can the Minnesota representative win by simply staying the course?

Tweet Share on Facebook September 6, 2011 Comment (18)Rep. Ron Paul is zeroing in on a 2012 target this week: Gov. Rick Perry, his fellow Texas Republican. In recent weeks, Paul criticized Perry for his gaffe suggesting Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke committed treason, and for talking about Texas seceding from the union. Last week, Paul told the Associated Press that Perry is likely just a "candidate of the week."

Bush Takes the High Road on Cheney's Book
Tweet Share on Facebook September 1, 2011 Comment (11)Former President George W. Bush is taking a tolerant view of a new book by his vice president, Dick Cheney. Bush told Fox and Friends this morning that he encourages members of his administration to give their version of events during his eight-year presidency, even if they disagree.
