Democrats Try to Undermine Rick Perry

Answer: Texas. All the jobs that Perry, the "cut government spending guy", is trying to get the credit for creating, result from a) oil, and b) receiving the largest amount of bailout pork of any state in the union. Perry loves government bailout pork and sucked up all he could. And now is lying by misstatement, by failing to admit what he got for Texas and claiming that such largess is bad. Texas is the beneficiary of Socialism! You know, taking from all and giving to those in need? Yeah, Texas likes Socialism, if it means money from you and me into its pot. And Perry is the man who arranged a Socialistic handout for Texas.

This off the wall religio-facist doesn't need anyone to undermine him. He's doing quite well on his own...

A quick note to all good patriots like Retired Engineer. A good, strong, powerful government requires revenue. You can't run a government or department of defense on the cheap. So be careful what you wish for, a GOP that seems obsessed with dismantling the government we got by starving it of revenue.

And as you can see from the latest round of debt negotiations circus, when clowns begin to wield axes, anything -- even defense, is fair game. Unless, of course at 80 years old you want to begin paying for your own health care, or maybe you could donate your social security check back to the government?

There are a lot of people who would be happy to have a minimum wage job. Welcome to the "spin" zone.

What a democrat (liberal) thinks has no influence on my thoughts. I can see & hear where this country is going. We must make changes in 2012, choose your president carefully. dangerous times are upon us. We must have a strong, determined, smart, & effective government. For the people & by the people of this UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I for one am proud to be an AMERICAN. I grew-up during W.W.-2- No! we had a few wounded & maimed ourselves & its different if you loose a loved one. I will be 80 yrs old my next birthday. GOD BLESS OUR UNITED STATES & GOD BLESS GOV. RICK PERRY.

I guess the Democratic National Comittee is forgetting that we have a little problem down here in Texas with illegal aliens who swamp our schools with non-English speaking children who receive free meals and free education, at taxpayers expense, in our public school systems. My daughter attended John J Pershing Elementary, which is less than 1 mile from President Bush's Dallas home, not some destitute neighborhood, where 91% of the students are eligible for free meals (breakfast and lunch) and of 464 sudents last year 350 were Hispanic. They're right, Texas is so awful for feeding these kids 2 of 3 meals 5 days a week.

It's revealing that you charcterize the Democrats' pointing out negative statistics about the Texas economy as "undermining" Perry, but you don't seem to be able to point to an instance of a false claim. If the statistics are accurate, as your failure to challenge any of them would appear to indicate, then what pecisely is the problem with reporting them?

I don't believe anything the Democrat Party says. Bill Clinton was a big liar. Obama is a bigger liar. So when they try to shoot down somebody it usually means they are more honest than them, so whoever this Perry guy is if the frickin Democrats don't like him he must be one helluva guy.

Texas is an economic basket case. Most of the jobs created in texas are poverty level jobs and texas has the worst social welfare statistics in the world, from the highest levels of children without health care, some of worst health statistics, worst education and school performance statistics, some of the worst levels poverty, child hunger issues in the country. Across the board texas has some of the highest levels of poverty, and now we want to dupicate that nationwide? HELL NO. Texas does have oil, not put there by Perry, which has brought in money into the state, however with lax taxation policies and few worker rights, even so a lot of the oil wealth has been hoarded by powerful corporate elites, other countries with similar oil resources as Norway, vastly greater levels of public health, lower poverty, universal health care and so on, because have higher levels of taxation more of the money was distributed back to the general population, whereas in Texas more of t he money is hoarded by wealthy elites. So Texas oil resources have nothing to do with rick perry, but, they have created some income for the state, but even then, Texas has not even managed that as well as other places like Norway.

It is important to realise that Republicans are economic terrorists who are carrying out economic warfare against americans. Republicans fantasize and love the idea of laying off workers and killing families so they can terrorise the population into surrendering to their fascist agenda which involves thr total inslavement of workers and destruction of worker democracies, leading to a situation where workers are powerless and can be whipped, beaten up, paid 4 cents an hour, worked 15 hours a day, and when their health has been destroyed, left to die when no longer valuable for exploitation by the corporate elite.

The idea that we should give more tax breaks to wealthy billionaires who already have billions of dollars and who lay off workers to enrich themselves, powerful corporations that have trillions of dollars and refuse to hire workers, and who love the idea that they can decide whether or not people have jobs and can fire workers and leave them desolate on the street at any moment, having basically power over life and death. Unions have long beeen the protection of workers against the tyranny of absolute power of massive corporations, and the elected democratic government that regulates these corporations so they cannot treat workers so terribly. Corporations are now trying to destroy our democracy and take absolute dictatorial control of the US by destroying public schools. attacking democratic government and eliminating regulations of corporations that are there to protect workers and our environment, thus infinite expanding power of corporations. Corporations want to starve workers, leave workers to die on the street, poison rivers, pollute the air, beat up workers, work them 15 hours a day, pay then 4 cents an hour, in the name of profits.

Perry's economic record is bad and Obama offers a better solution? I don't see how the Dems can go after Perry's record with a straight face when millions of Americans are suffering under Obama. They should read wisegrannie's post and get a perspective from one who came from the People's Republic of California. Look at this way. If Obama had been governor of Texas for the past 12 years, he would have turned Texas into California on the Rio Grande River. Democrats have made a mess of California, New York, Michigan, Nevada and other states. That's why people in these states and others are moving to Texas.
