GOP Braces for a Negative Obama in 2012

Republicans are bracing for a relentless and very harsh assault by President Obama and the Democrats on the eventual GOP presidential nominee. The Democratic National Committee and some Obama campaign officials are already attacking former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the GOP front runner, and Republican leaders predict that it will only get worse. "They know if they're going to win, they're going to have to win ugly," says Frank Donatelli, chairman of the conservative GOPAC political action committee and former White House political director for President Ronald Reagan.

Rarely does a day go by when the Democratic National Committee or an Obama surrogate doesn't blast Romney in one way or another, even though the GOP caucuses and primaries are five months away. The DNC often contacts reporters to give an unfavorable spin on whatever Romney is saying on a given day. And the DNC frequently arranges for local party officials and others to shadow him around the country and offer criticism.

What has set many GOP strategists on edge is an article in Politico headlined " Obama Plan: Destroy Romney." A prominent Democratic strategist, identified only as "aligned with the White House " told Politico, "Unless things change and Obama can run on accomplishments, he will have to kill Romney." Obama strategist David Axelrod says Romney has undertaken an "extreme makeover" because he has changed positions on major issues including abortion and health care in order to curry favor with voters. Another senior Obama adviser told Politico that there is a "weirdness factor with Romney" that includes awkward behavior in public such as when he jokingly pretended that a waitress had pinched him on the butt and his telling how he strapped the family dog to the roof of his car on a trip. "This is a strategy born of desperation," says a prominent Republican who has advised several past presidential campaigns.

Romney allies say the Obama negative strategy won't be decisive because the big issue in 2012 will be the economy, and Obama won't be able to use attacks to divert people's attention from his weak record. And if Obama goes negative, it will give Romney or another Republican nominee the chance to wage a contrasting positive campaign, which many voters will appreciate.

In addition, Obama runs the risk of looking inauthentic himself. He rose to power by seeming to be a nice guy and as president he has tried to remain above the fray. If he goes too negative, it will undermine his credibility, GOP strategists say, and make him seem just like any other politician.

In a fighter aircraft the pilot can always rely on his ejection seat to escape a burning aircraft. With the American economy besieged by Obama's flawed Marxist policies; and, on a flaming descent into a fiscal abyss, it's long past time to eject our clueless teleprompter reader from the sanctuary of the WH before our Nation's economic security experiences a catastrophic structural failure. A cursory review of Obama's pre-presidential history would have revealed to all but the most rabid of the Kool-Aid drinkers, that the man is functionally illiterate on the minimal job skills requisite of a successful presidency. Further, his life-long indoctrination in historically proven flawed Marxist dogma, has rendered the man-child incapable of comprehending the mechanics of free-market capitalism. The economic model that, pre-Obama, had made America the most prosperous Nation in the history of mankind. Certainly, the Democrat Party recognizes that a campaign on the disastrous Obama record is suicidal. It's time to pull the ejection handles on Obama; and, for the Democrat Party to select a credible primary opponent to ensure that whatever the outcome of the 2012 election, America will not crash and burn, which is an inevitable outcome with an Obama continuation at the helm. It's time to demonstrate a loyalty to America, as opposed to either the Democrat -OR- Republican Parties. Greg Neubeck

Who is Herman Cain? Who is Michelle Bachmann? Has the GOP written them off??? In every poll, Cain and Bachmann are leading. Romney is far behind them. Still he is anointed as the Front runner. Well. The GOP is losing its supporters. They are moving towards the Tea Party. GOP is doomed. How? AlGore has caused serious damage to our economy by promoting global Warming against all scientific evidence. Romney made a statement that we are responsible for Global Warming. What is his solution??? Population control??? If he cannot stand up to the harm done to our economy by the EPA, Romney should never be nominated. He will be another Al Gore. As a Mormon, he does not read his Bible. There is no Global warming. When God asked Adam and Eve to go, multiply and fill the earth, he had already made provisions for good life for more than 700 billion people and not for just 7 billion people. We have not yet fileld the earth. We have plenty of natural resources like fossil fuel, oxygen and water lasting for the next 100 years. These population controllers like Romney want us to stop driving our cars and go back to the carriages. We need a Ressurrected Reagan now. Romney is not the one. He is a RINO who has already sold Massachussets. He will sell out USA too if nominated. Romney, please go away!!!!!!!

The GOP is also suffering from a mental illness of selecting only the losers. They are obsessed with the RINOS. Bob Dole, McCain are RINOS who care about themselves rather than the country.Bob Dole sold our country by pushing NAFTA. The current massive unemployment is the result of NAFTA. Does anyone think about repealing NAFTA and putting AMericans to work? No. Who cares??? The GOP did the same in Colorado for the past 10 years. By selecting the losers, they finally lost and gave up the Governorship, senate and the congress to the democrats. They have never learnt anything from the past. They are still making the same mistake of nominating Romney. Romney was in a better position to defeat Obama in 2008 than in 2012. Alright GOP, go ahead and reelect Obama!!!!!
