Tim Kaine: Democrats lead boldly, despite Republican obstructionists

As governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine wrestled with a Republican-led Senate and House of Delegates to increase funding for transportation despite intense opposition to taxes. He opposed abortion and gay marriage, yet he upheld the right of women to seek abortion.

That interesting résumé led to Kaine's appointment as chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Here is Kaine on the leadership challenges facing him and the Democratic Party in a time of economic uncertainty and partisan gridlock in Washington.

Yes. I agree that Democrats are leading BADLY. I'm glad you pointed that out for us.

After November the only thing the Democrats will be leading boldly is the unemployment line.

I think that the title of the article illuminates the problem. You call the the representatives who represent the people obstructionists and those that don't represent the people are somehow the good guys.

You have forgotten that Senators and Congressmen are supposed to represent the people and not some agenda.

If Tim Kaine would have understood this he'd still be Governor Tim Kaine
