Dear Jim,

why don't listen to the voices of your employees. When email you or call you do not respond like you say you do, why? You think your managers are little angels,WRONG!! There is a growing problem with your managers in Calif. or maybe all of them. To many favors for those who don't deserve and nothing for those who are the back bone of the whole industry of Costco. Give them rewards and give them the power to harass all employees especially females. There is to much of this going on and on everyday, this has to stop. Managers to much involve sexually especially when they are married. Please a under cover investigator to each Costco and you will see. I seen managers check members and with their mouth down drooling. This has to stop because Costco is very stressful work environment . Then your open door policy really really needs to be improve. When you go in and speak to anyone higher than a warehouse manager, employees find themselves in trouble with their job and the employees get harass and that needs improvement. Wake up Jim or Costco is not going to be around after your long gone.

Why haven't these concerns been addressed by Costco? It seems that the media has had the wool pulled over their eyes. Maybe Costco and Mr. Senegal aren't so great after all.

The Costco we've all grown up with and loved has really disappointed me. I like the way they treat their employees fairly and when there's a problem they handle it appropriately. But, my son was hit by a person that had the Costco Ameriprise insurnace. She hit two parked cars, and my son was in one of them. At first, they refused to take responsibility or even give me a rental car. I've been lied to, they played games with me, they gave me the runaround. I am appaled that Costco would have any affiliation with this Ameriprise and sell this insurance when it treats people this badly

Jim,

I approached the Delta Dental Plan with an open mind. I'm not really into insurance programs especially HMOs as theey call them. I called and got a provider here in Palm Desert close to where I was. Expecting the Dentist to be upfront about things. The Dentist got me in right away and did x-rays and suggested I needed two inlays in my teeth and deep root cleaning. I've been through the thing of deep root cleaning thing before. I just wanted the regular cleaning that you go to a dentist to get. I thought this was covered under the costco plan. Well I got out of there with a $76 dollar bill that day for somethoing other then a regular teeth cleaning. The dentist wanted to do several fillings that were simply cosmetic on the outside of the teeth. Jim I was so disgusted with this dentist because he wanted to charge me $85 more fot the inlays then what the Delta Dental Chart called for. I was on the phone several times to Delta Dental.

I ended up going to another local dentist that is not covered by delta dental, got two crowns that ultimately ended costing me less then going through the Costco Delta Dental Plan. He also advised me that these dentist come up with all kinds of charges that are unwarranted. The dentist that I went through with Delta Dental wanted $2200 to do all the work on my teeth. The inlays for the two teeth that had a filling missing and a tooth chipped he wanted $460 for. The Delta Dental Charge book said he should have been charging me $385. When I called him on this his office had some type of excuse. Also going in the office I was very uncomfortable singing paperwork said that I would submitt to arbitration rather then suing them if anything went wrong. This kind of put a red flag up.

I consider the Delta Dental Plan a very bad deal through Costco. My experience has not been good. When I contacted Delta Dental today they said they had refunded $80.?? to my account, which has not been refunded. They said I used a portion of the plan. What i used I more then paid for through the dentist for the cleaning. I paid the jerk $76. for a cleaning that was suppose to be included in the plan. I paid Delta Dental 97.36 and that's what I expect to have returned to me. I'll blow off the $76 paid to the dentist. My membership # which has been cancelled with Costco is 111794193343 I don't know if this will bring any kind of action and really don't care. I thought I'd write and let you know what I think of Delta Dental Plan you carry through your company. Thank you. Doyle Sherman

My husband was fired from Costco for no good reason. The managers are so obsessed with "getting ahead" they will throw you under the bus because they think if they "tell" on someone, it will make them look better. He was instructed by 3 different managers to do 3 different things & NONE of them would admit they told him the wrong thing to do. They all said "you must have misunderstood me". They all lied to save their butts! My husband got numerous letters from customers telling him how pleased they were with him. That was not good enough for them. They treat their employees like 3rd graders, writing them up for ANYTHING!!!! When it was time for his review, they ignored him for 4 months!!!! I personally will NEVER step foot in a Costco again.

I forgot to mention the practices of this manager could bring potential sexual harrassment, discrimination charges and worse of all for Costco cross contamination falsyfying SSOP's and fat content. All of which I have emailed you about and talked to the store manager and corporate HR. She has been audited in the past but I guess because nothing was done she thinks she is invincible. The employee that brought this information to light was eventually terminated hmm maybe she is invincible. Will it take someone getting real sick for someone to finally care? It is evident my husband because of his care and passion for this loos art has no future with Costco. I was really hoping you would make the differance. All my husband wanted was a job in his field and it's like a slap in the face that he would be fired so that no attention would be brought to a store that otherwise looks like it's doing the right thing. As long as shareholders are happy why care? Will you care enough to get a hold of my husband who was trying to do things the right way and get him his job back at another Costco? Or will you also kick him to the curb for being a whistle blower? One of the people he spoke to at HR reassured him that it was people like my husband that stood up for what was right would not be treated in the manner in which he exactly got treated. One of your worst policies is letting the store know when upper management is coming....come on are you serious? More like lets make each other look good so we all get bonus' and look good to people like the CEO. So maybe it wouldn't benefit you to have someone who cares about what goes out the door as long as the money is spent. You surely didn't start this company with this attitude funny what having money does to a person

Cindy of FL 7:16PM April 18, 2011

Sir I have emailed you 3 times and still have not been able to gert a hold of you. I am trying so hard to contact you about one of your stores and how employees are being treated. I keep reading how much you care but still have not had the chance to tell you what has happened. Since we have exhausted all other avenues as per the employee hand book the unthinkable has happened. Your open door policy was used and my husband got fired for it. Thankfully for Costco this is a right to work state....but does that mean your managers can be vendictive and brag about their status keeping others in fear for their jobs should they cross her?

Jim Our local Costco in St. George Utah, is getting very unfriendly to seniors. I have to ride a cart in your store and in an area of retired people Costso has 6 working electric carts. I was told by the manager that there to costly to maintain and that I should buy my own and bring it to Costco, wow I call that a friendly store to seniors. Even some of the employees are very unhappy with this situation but like they have told me there is nothing they can do. So if this is a local problem then it needs to be fixed.

We have 2 local Walmarts within 10 miles of each other and each store has at least 15 to 20 per store, even a local grocery store has 3 carts and a furniture store has 3.

If you don't get to the store before it opens then you are out of luck in trying to get a cart.

Jim, I hope this through. The Costco store in El Paso is becoming less

"customer friendly"...getting more like Sams. The photo department would not process my 35 mm film so that I could make Christmas cards from a couple of the photos I knew I had on the film....."cost cutting" reasons. I did not do my "regular" amount of shopping and left for another store. If the El Paso store wants to "cut costs" eliminate one or two of the managers that were "chatting" and not putting another cashier on line...only had three on line on Tuesday, November 30 at 3:30 PM....."not many customers"....I wonder why?

I admire your work ethic and character and would like to consider you "my uncle".
