Eboo Patel: Obama Faith Adviser Preaches Religious Tolerance

Jesus came to earth to show us the true God. Jesus, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are One. This Trinity is truly the One and Only God. I do not believe in encouraging religious pluralism since I am convinced that there is only one true God, the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Without this loving and pure Being , man and nature would not even exist. It isn't right to try to entice people away from the True Faith any more than it is right to denigrate any other religion. Let us agree to disagree and not fight each other's beliefs. God will judge in the end with mercy and kindness. We should be like Him and not bicker and judge each other. If we emulate the mercy of the Triune God we will live in peace here on earth and all our questions will be answered when Jesus comes again. Unless we at least try to find Jesus while we are on Earth, We will be judged for our "pluralism" when He comes to judge the living and the dead.

He is worried about religious intolerance in the United States? Perhaps he might wish to work on Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemnen, Somalia, Sudan, Egypt...

I'm sad that the land of my youth is now thought of as a place of

"religious intolerance" by those who come here from truly intolerant countries. Shame.

As for the "women's rights are now the norm" (paraphrase) comment, again, he should be working to make this true worldwide rather than merely being pleased that he now lives in a country where he can say such a thing without being arrested for blasphemy. Again, rather than working on "religious intolerance" here, he could work on women's rights in islamic countries.

Those of us here in "flyover country" are completely aware of what Obama and his advisors thinks of rural and small town Christians and wish he would actually be a force for good by speaking up about islamic attrocities such as stonings, terrorism, and amputations, along with the treatment of Christians in Sudan, Egypt, etc. May we finally have such a leader in 2012.

All believers are a bunch of losers who do not want to take responsibility of their own lives. All this faith based initiative is BS. Obama has no business to give my tax dollars to religious fanatics.

Dear Mr. Patel and All good people,

I am proud of you that Barack Obama, our beloved president has chosen you for this job. You and president Obama have God's mission for the world. If I could join you for this mission, I would be happy to give my great service for bringing peace in the wolrd.

I am a moslem, and I am US Citizen. I am very upset for the moslem people who don't know how to be a good moslem. I have been living in many countries and I grew up in Christian school, and my father taught me and took me to the Budhist, Hindu Temples. He asked me to read and study christian, hindu, budhist and Jewish. religions. I do understand the purpose to have religion is to love people, to help people, to say thank God and to forgive for GOd's sake.

Because all of us will go back to the same place. Why should we

hate each other? Why should we have to kill people? Why, Why, and Why? All of those problems have to go back to the people who brought us up, the religion teachers and religion friends. Why? Because they should not giving and teaching negative information about other religions.

I and my husband are a member of Interfaith group named SUBUD International Spiritual. Our members are in 80 countries. Our members come from all of religions in the world. And we live in peace and love. We never think one religion is better than other. We helped people wihout thinking about religion or ranking. Because religion without knowledge and spiritual is nothing. Knowledge and spiritual without religion will go to the wrong way. Spiritual without knowledge and religion is death.

I hope my dream to work with you and President Obama will come true. Amen!

Best Wishes,

Sri M. Solat

Congratulations Mr. Patel! You spoke to my youth group seven years ago, and I will never forget how inspired I was after hearing what you had to say. You helped shape my developing perspective on the world, and for that I am forever grateful. Please keep up your good work, and never lose your focus. The world needs more people like you and hopefully we will have it sooner rather than later!

I agree with the "pluralism is a joke." You have your faith and believe in your God. My God is a jealous God and is not willing to share his glory. He alone created the heavens and earth and all people to worship him. Satan has deceived you all into believing this is ok. It sounds so sweet, innocent, and thought provoking, when in reality it is good old fashion deception. It's been around for years. God provided a saviour to save you from your sins. His name is Jesus. You will never see eternal life being plural.

I am sadden by reading the posts that attack the beliefs and efforts of Mr. Patel. The attackers live in such a small world. I can only conclude that the complexity of living life among so many different types of people, simply overwhelms them. It is easier to attack Mr Patel with snarky comments, then to think (Thank you FOX News).

Dividing ourselves into groups of faith and judging those in the other groups, as good or bad, flies into the face of our shared reality.

Our births, our deaths, the caring for our young, are the same for all. How can any of us say what is the proper faith, the right faith, when we all share this planet together. This life of ours, plays out under the light of one star. This star is one of the billions, that exist in the universe.

The small, fearful ones should come out of their caves, stand in awe of the miracle that both the stars and ourselves share.

Everything turns gray. All becomes a morally relative black hole. Gray or black the end is the same. To change the image, he and his followers float on a choppy sea without rudder, sail, oar, compass, sextant, or clock. They share the same creaky boat, lost on the sea surrounded by rocky shoals. This guy like Depak Chopra, is peddling pure "new age" gobble-de-gook. The misty eyed, spiritual pabulum crowd is going to eat this stuff up and wake up one day asking, "Where did this awful belly ache come from?" The short of it is, that he is the perfect guy to be faux messiah's high priest. Unfortunately, one metaphor just wasn't enough!
