The national unemployment rate is better than it was a year ago, but the improvements have not come evenly nationwide. Recent Bureau of Labor Statistics figures show that, of 372 U.S. metropolitan areas counted, 127 had higher unemployment rates in June 2011 than in June 2010. Of the 100 largest U.S. metropolitan areas, these are the 13 with the biggest jump in unemployment rates over that one-year period.
