The sagging economy has taken its toll on birth rates nationwide, but women in many places around the country are still having lots of children. Factors like education, race and ethnicity, religion, and age can all help to shape a particular place's birth rate. Figures from the Census' 2010 American Community Survey suggest that these metropolitan areas (with populations of 500,000 or greater) are where women are having the most children.
